Two nights ago my brain could not take anymore. I had been going nonstop for 11 days, sleeping 3-4 hours a night. I was giving medicines, fluids, pushing nutristat, getting bit, clawed, being peed and pooped on, doing breathing treatments, running different cats to the vet, and watching as my son's best friends and favorite cats were loaded up and rushed out of here crate after crate. Sometimes all I could do was hold him while he screamed.

Over the past few years, I didn't ask for the help that small rescues and other sanctuaries normally ask for, such as volunteers to come socialize, feature and foster cats, clean litterboxes, drive to appointments, and help feed. I didn't ask for monetary or supply donations for weekly food and litter and worming supplies or flea medicine, or toys. I funded this almost always by myself, with a few friends like Connors godmother Jennifer Sutter and Lily Gabriel who have helped in emergencies, and are absolutely amazing.

I didn't ask for help because I felt that since I chose to do it I people wouldn't help. I was also called names at times and had a lot of judgement. So I funded this all almost by myself, and did all the feedings, flea treatments, socializing, and cleaning myself. I caught around 30 kittens bare handed. I dealt with the bites and scratches alone. I got attached to many, but since early 2020 I gave all but 2 of them up to find new homes. I kept Fantasia and Yoda, both have serious health issues and both stole my heart.

Fantasia was one I had to emergency surrender. And Peanut Butter, Connors best friend and emotional support animal also had to be surrendered. Bandit, who I delivered in 2016, breech and not breathing. I had to do CPR on her to get her back as a newborn. Mogwai, who drove me crazy but was also goofy. Enya, named for my mom's favorite singer. Jelly, my girl who always ran around talking to everyone. Dot, my little owl who literally climbed the walls and was Yoda's adopted kitty mommy. Wakko, who was my sweet girl even though she was terrified of everyone else. Pumpkin, who was scared of her own shadow but such a sweetheart. And my Peaches who loved when I sang the song she was named for.

I lost my mom in 2015. This past Tuesday would have been her 67th birthday. This coming Monday is Connors 16th birthday. Instead of remembering my mom and then getting ready for my son's birthday I've been in full on crisis mode for the past 11 days. I have been trying to comfort Connor who saw Bandit have a seizure, and who had to make the decision to surrender his best friend. I am running out of funds for the vet care, and I don't know if anyone else will need antibiotics or a vet visit. I'm exhausted, covered in scratches, haven't ate right, I'm dehydrated, devastated and scared. And I've still had to do full time coursework and studying for my masters degree, and care for Connor daily.

Two nights ago I fainted. I have never fainted in my life. I was doing breathing treatments and medicine and my body just .... Shut down. Full panic attack and when I sat down to try and get it under control... I just kinda lost a couple minutes somewhere and when I came back I was on the floor. Between the rude and judgemental things that were said to me by several people over the last few days, the worry, the stress, the heartbreak, and the lack of care for myself.... I just can't handle everything right now.

Yoda and his litter mates when they were babies! His siblings, Chewy, Vader, Padmae and Leia were all put up for adoption but Yoda was the runt and needed extra care. He still has some special needs and delays but he's happy and we adore him.

This guy is new! I've never seen him at my colony before and he seems friendly. He's going in to get TNVR'd and if he's friendly he'll go to rescue for adoption! If he's feral he'll come back here after he's recovered from surgery, and he will join the rest of the outdoor venom babies in the ferals colony where he'll be fed twice a day and have warm shelters to sleep in at night.
