Just a dog. 🥰

From time to time people tell me “chill out, it’s just a dog” or “it’s a lot of money just for a dog.” They don't understand the distance traveled, the time invested or the costs incurred by "just a dog". Some of my proudest moments have occurred with “just a dog.”
Many hours have passed being my only company "just a dog", but not for one moment did I feel despised. Some of my saddest moments have been because of “just a dog,” and on those gray days, the gentle touch of “just a Dog” gave me comfort and the reason to get through the day.

If you also think “it’s just a dog”, then you’ll probably understand phrases like “just a friend”, “just a sunrise” or “just a promise.” “Just a dog” brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust and pure unbridled joy. “Just a dog” brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.

For "just a dog" I will get up early, take long walks and look forward to the future. So for me and people like me, it’s not “just a dog,” but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the memories of the past, and the absolute joy of the moment. “Just a dog” brings out the good in me and takes my thoughts away from myself and daily worries.

I hope one day they can understand that it’s not “just a dog”, but the one that gives me humanity and keeps me from being “just a human.” So the next time you hear the phrase “just a dog”, just smile because they “just don’t get it”.

Just a reminder - as of Sunday, May 1st, the Bordetella vaccine (kennel cough) can not be older than 6 months in order for your dog to be boarded here. Thank you for your cooperation.

Change of Vaccine Policy effective May 1, 2022:
Due the the higher instance of Bordetella aka Kennel Cough in the surrounding area, I have updated the Vaccine Policy for Kennel Cough to be given no more than 6 months prior to your stay. For example, if your Bordetella vaccine was given on January 1st, it needs to be given again July 1st.

This goes into effect on May 1st, so this gives you some time to get your dogs vaccination up to date. Just trying to keep everyone safe!

Our Story

You can feel at ease about boarding your dog or cat with us. So many people call to make their pets reservation before making their own travel arrangements just to make sure that we have room. They tell us that they can go on vacation and not worry about their pets. What a compliment! The dog kennels have both an inside and outside portion. The exercise yards are chain link fence sitting inside vinyl stockade fence for their security. Kennels have heated floors (so relaxing) and air conditioning in the summer months. TV or radio is always on for comfort. Cats are housed in the Cat House in large condo cages with perches for their climbing enjoyment. Boarding pickups and drop offs 7am to 7 pm Monday - Friday. Saturday 7 am to noon. Saturday afternoons and Sundays are by call ahead arrangement. Check out our website for pictures: www.kayeninegroomingandboarding.com
