Wishing our longest running pack member a very Happy Birthday. Lager is 16 years young today!!! What an amazing milestone! Fresh food, and daily exercise has kept Lager thriving well into his senior years. Dr. Harvey’s meals have made it easy to balance nutrition, even for older dogs with special diet needs. We have been so lucky to work with him, and we wish him healthy days ahead!

We couldn’t agree more! Dogs are here for us to enjoy, not for us to dull and medicate. Do your breed research, find a dog’s exercises needs that are within your limits. This might not mean getting a puppy of your dreams, but perhaps rescuing a 4-5 year old pet. I kindly refer to these dogs as certified pre-owned. Often times, they are house broken, have basic leash training, and mellow out more quickly than a pup. Walking your dog shouldn’t be stressful. If it is, consider a trainer or professional dog walker to help.

Please choose a reputable rescue or breeder for your future dog. Online puppy purchases are likely from a puppy mill. A reputable breeder will allow you to meet the litter and parents. They should also allow you to see the space where the pups are being raised. A good breeder or rescue will properly vet each dog, and will work with you if the pup becomes ill. Do your research!
