Fraser Update (pre-cut):
We still have about twenty 6-7ft, ten 7-8ft, and one 8-9ft.

Cypress and Pine (cut your own):
Cypresses mostly in the 6-9ft range
White Pines in the 6-7ft range

Just a reminder to make sure you keep those beautiful trees healthy… 🌲

Everyone seems to want to decorate earlier and earlier, but that also means you’re needing your tree to last longer and longer. 😬 Our frasers are usually cut just 1-2 days before they arrive at our farm so they are super fresh (one load the weekend before Thanksgiving and one after Thanksgiving). Our pine and cypress are obviously cut by you on whatever day you choose.

If you chose a Fraser fir tree, we typically cut a “cookie” off the bottom (pine and cypress are fresh cuts by you). From that time, you have about 4 hours to get your tree in water before the sap will reseal the bottom. If you wait longer that 4 hours, just cut off another cookie right before you put it in your stand. Some trees drink a lot!! Keep an eye on it and make sure it always stays watered. 💧

We also know some of you like to stay extra warm and toasty… your tree, not so much. 🥵If you are able, close or redirect your vents from blowing directly on your tree and further drying it out.

Just like a bouquet of flowers, there are no roots and no soil once the tree is cut. You are just prolonging the beauty and nature will handle the rest.

If you end up with some tree cookies, let the kids turn them into ornaments and take the opportunity to learn about the life of your tree by examining the rings (see images).🪵

After the Christmas season, you can move your tree to the yard or back deck and put a little peanut butter and birdseed on some branches and enjoy watching the birds play. 🕊️Some places like the North Georgia Zoo like having trees for their animals to eat and play with. 🐘🦧Or have yourself a backyard bonfire.🔥
