Getting a little too big and rambunctious for the cuddle cup π

Poor Birdie π These are by far the chompiest babies yet.

Evangeline thinking she can make up for her recent escape attempt by being cute.

I stole a baby! Until mom came and took him back π
They are already starting to detach π

Evangeline π€¦
Nothing worse than an escaped adolescent female STO. Babies arnt as skilled at fleeing, boys are calmer, and adults can just be picked up, but a young female can put the best parkour athlete to shame and would of put Houdini out of work. I felt like a newbie chasing her around for an hour. I think if I were a cat I'd starve.

Birdie has a surprise... Well, nine surprises π

A perfect little frosted, his looks put his handsome uncle Myles to shame and his personality rivals that of his grandma the indomitable Dotty.
He's not even weaned, but I'm already looking forward to his future kids, it's going to be a special line. I'd be getting on the waitlists now π

We just moved. This is the "before" picture of the new passelry. I'll get back to you on the "after"... Wish us luck!

This little pudge nugget is particularly endearing. He was the first one I held when they were still hardly more than tic tacs. He's never even called out for mom. He's just been completely okay with people since before his eyes opened π€·

Finally got them all detached at once! Two boys and two girls

Evangeline wishes you a good morning

We have been harboring a bit of a secret here. Ruth had a litter 3 weeks ago π She only had four which concerned us as we haven't had such a small litter since our very first pair.
However, all seem plump and active! We have been very excited for them as 1.) This makes our exalted πDottyπ a grandma! and 2.) This is the first pairing of a "frosted" (white-ear, ivory, white-tip) and I'm excited to see how the genes play out. Her prodigy (and soon Myles') will help us learn how the genes for white-eared are inherited.
Unfortunately, with only 4, there is a good chance all are spoken for by the waitlist π Dotty is next and it will be her second and last litter so I'd strongly recommend getting on the waitlist now!

Dotty never makes cleaning easy

Caught Birdie tail-carrying in the play pen as she was looking for a nesting spot. I assumed they found a spot then started getting the material ready, but apparently it's the other way around π

Some better comparisons of blotched vs unblotched.
We are the first ones really working with this coloration though there was some noting if it years ago that called it "blotched". I don't really like that term. I'd appreciate some alternative ideas to what to call it while it's still "new to the market" so to speak.
(You can see mom has milk still. I've long since suspected they take more time to properly wean than they are usually given)

Found a little hunter during playtime π

Their ears are too big for their little bodies right now π They take a while to grow into them. The equivalent of puppy feet.

Birdie and some babies hanging out in the play bin

Evangeline has a fantastic blotch marking, she's white all along her belly. She's already quite the character. She's been surprisingly calm since 5-6weeks. Good little climber too π

I need some help from those of you with small pets that use cage sets. How much would you expect a cage set like this one to cost new?
*Anti-pill fleece and hidden seams
*Cage liners and Ruth not included π

Myles grew into such a goof. (Look at his little tooth π)
06/14/2023
Several of the babies have already gone home or awaiting transportation to do so π still there are still a couple of boys and girls that yet to have anywhere to go.

Myles everytime I go in their room

They won't hold still for pics π΅

The babies very much look like little opossums now π

Sorry, missed a few days being sick. We are much better at mitigating it, but it will probably always pop up from time to time, delaying potato posts π
They are getting so big! I can actually tell most apart due to their colors and head shapes so this week will be the week to start your claims! I'll have individual posts up (health willing) very soon.
I'm also compiling some recommendations for ground transportation. Send me an message if you want me to see if there is a route near you for next month!
......................................................................
For now, our hold back: Evangeline. Almost all of our pets and ferrets have 'people names', but I don't usually pay attention to the meanings. However for Evangeline and her mom, Beatrice (Birdie), I did. Beatrice means friend as Birdie was an exceptionally sweet tator tot with no fear of the gloves I used to have to wear.
Evangeline means "new beginnings" because she was the first born after I started getting well enough that I had to put together a new life after my illness took my old one. It's not paleontology, but raising baby opossums is not so bad π

Kind of proud of this. I we had Dotty in the picture bin because I lost one of the girls (was actually scared for a few minutes π±). It turned out Dotty was also looking for the baby. Just went to cut the video down a bit in a new app. Then one thing lead to another...
Dotty helping me clean part 2
We have a symbiotic relationship: I clean her cage, she cleans my arm π€£
Disappointing Marge by lack of treats
Trying to hang out with Marge, but in typical baby fashion, I was checked for treats, found lacking, and abandoned in search of said treats
Quartz and some of her babies
Quartz and some of her "babies". They are 8 weeks tomorrow and weaned. In 4-5 days Quartz will be free of them. Then, once I see they are gaining weight on their own, they will meet their new families β€οΈ except one boy who has none yet π (note: the cage is placed in their bin for her to nest in. The door or is never shut-- otherwise babies would get through the bars)
