Pegasus Sport Horses is excited to be bringing in Stephanie Beamer-Brown of Horse by Horse again for a bit and bridle fitting clinic. Clinic will be at Pegasus Sport Horses in Eagle Mountain this Sunday & Monday between 8 and 6:30 both days. Everyone welcome to come audit and hang out. (Then we have those last minute openings we’d love to sign some people up for) If you have ever been interested in seeing the bit and bridle fitting process, here is your chance to come watch and/or ride! Steph is a master at this with YEARS of experience.

If you’re on the fence about having her work with you and your horses please come join us and watch how neat and thorough this process is. What stands out to me is how CLEAR it is what the horse has chosen. The difference is night and day. From avoiding the bit, bracing against the bit, stiffness, even laziness(and many other things) can be from bit and/or bridle issues. My first time riding in and watching one of her clinics was not at all what I thought it would be. I can’t even put into words how cool this is. And I’d Love for everyone to be able to do this with their horse(s).

So… stepping onto my high horse…
*prepare for word barf, sorry*
I posted on a barn building group asking what are some things that can be installed to make sliding glass doors close automatically so they can’t be forgotten open or left cracked. Now that the barn is heated for winter this makes a huge difference and the last thing I want would be for the propane bill this year lead us to having to raise rates to be prepared for next year. We are a very kid friendly barn and while adults/employees forget too, it’s also the kids and some kids are too small to be able to open and close doors. Anyways. It’s a small thing to fix. Really, not a big deal.

I had more comments saying to threaten to raise board, actually raise board, install cameras and send out fines to those or parents of those who leave it open, dock pay, not have kids allowed, etc… instead of actual ideas on how to make the doors close behind you 😦
I’m kind of sad about this.
The assumption most made is that we don’t have standards and must be raising kids without rules or expectations and that I’m too soft.
Literally a solution that will cost a couple hundred dollars so that when the inherent accident/forgetfulness that goes with being a kid or a human happens it doesn’t cost me both kidneys and all my limbs or price out people especially in this bad economy. Kids and AAs and a persons clients are the heart of this sport. I am far from perfect and I can be forgetful/mom brain sometimes.
We are here for the kids wanting to learn to ride and be equestrians.
We are here for the moms who want to have their cake and eat it too. Are moms just only supposed to ride maybe once a week if they have small children and don’t have someone to watch them or a barn that won’t allow their kids?
Does having children on a farm mean you must be stupid and have no rules?
I know people are surprised when they find out we’re a kid friendly barn as most barns(usually for liability reasons) don’t allow kids. And that’s just sad. Yes, it costs me more in liability insurance to say we allow kids and have kids riding and around… but where did you get your start?! A farm that allowed you as a kid to be at a farm and taking lessons! (Unless you learned as an adult and kudos to you for that!)
Kids are welcome here. People who aren’t perfect are welcome here. And that’s that.
Anyone who disagrees, I really would love to hear how perfect you are and how you’ve never forgotten something or had a brainless moment. I’ll wait…

Super simple and interesting girth info

After having spent around 2k in girths for Miss Mia, not believing it would be this simple 😅 turns out it actually was. She’s now in an all fleece ovation cresshaped girth and hasn’t looked back. And no more elbow chaffing. Should have done this sooner. If anyone wants a good deal on just about every weird style of dressage girth in a 34-36” hit me up.

Here at Pegasus sport Horses we have people go through a meet and greet and will call previous barns if we feel the need. Why? Because the atmosphere here is just as important as the level of care we offer here. We’re a small barn and one bad egg really does kill it for everyone.
Pegasus Sport Horses is a place of peace and Happiness to so many and we’re not about to lose that ❤️ we take our duty to protect the people and horses here very seriously ❤️

All spots are filled for this clinic, but we are opening the sessions to auditing. If you have ever been interested in seeing the bit fitting process, here is your chance.
