We took a trip to the RCBAC show in Stillwater over the weekend. It was a bit hot but we made the best of it.
Open: BOSG in all 5 shows with either our Sr. or Jr. Black bucks. A huge congrats to all the winners especially my besties Jacque and Shari for winning their first BIS!!!!!

Henry no longer wants my help at the table but I am so proud of how he's progressed this last year.

We are not sure how long this sweet boy will be with us as he is going on 7. But he's on his 3rd child and gets all the snacks and lots of cuddles and even a girlfriend once in awhile.

Long day, but fun day! We brought a few to the RCBAC show, and Eva had BOB and BOS in both shows for Youth Mini Rex and went on to win BIS in show 2 with BB's Princess Peach.
Henry was BOB and BOS Youth Satin in Show 1 and BOB in show 2.
It was so nice to actually be able to sit and visit with friends , and the ride home was quite peaceful 😁

Open Mini Rex, we had good comments and a couple group wins. I'm really proud of how the reds are doing. Overall, it was a great weekend! Big congratulations to all the winners, and thank you to the judges for recognizing our animals.

My mom took the kiddos to an Illinois show today, but called me upset so just a little mom rant.
Judges 💯 deserve respect when judging our animals but that respect should go both ways so today when a judge thought she had a right to comment on the fact she feels we have high expectations for my daughter, she absolutely over stepped her boundaries!!!!
My children were born into this hobby and have been putting animals on the table since they were 3 years old and had to show in open because of ARBA's rule. They have their own breed/varieties, do their own chores, help clean trays, make breeding lists and help at shows. But at 8 and 6 they obviously still need help. We set goals this year to pay better attention to comments and know when animals need to come off the table, something that they've both made progress on.
My kids DO NOT come just to show my animals in Youth. If they want to take part in this hobby then yes I 💯 percent expect them to put the work in. There is WAY too many open exhibitors showing in youth, if you are trying to hide it, well it is not working. When mom or dad groom all the animals and the kids just sit in the aisle, on a tablet or phone and have absolutely zero interest in what's going on it might be time to just enter open.🤷‍♀️
Instead of commenting on the fact I have expectations for my children, maybe this judge should worry about adults putting animals on youth tables or kids running and screaming in the showroom, or better yet just judge the animals. Okay rant over.

On a positive note congratulations to Jerry, Max and all the other winners today. If mom seemed cranky this is why lol.

I have a few reds that will move out. Final decisions on Blacks and Whites will not be made for a few more weeks.

Yesterday our wonderful rabbit community came out for Reo's Benefit Show, put on by the Midwest Mini Rex Club and RCBAC. It was a fun show and an amazing raffle! I only showed a few reds in Open so I was available to write and help where needed but love the comments I am getting on the juniors.

A big shout out to Henry who not only showed his rabbits but also his sister's since she was sick. Then after the show, cleaned up garbage and helped sweep the building. Definitely a proud momma seeing him contribute.

Getting young ones in their own cages and I can't wait to see these two grow❤️.
I am finally starting to see the depth I have been working towards, not perfect but a step in the right direction.

Our herd is always a work in progress as it should be. The kids and I talked about things we need to work on and we are excited to see how spring litters go.

This junior doe caught my eye. She has bounced around from cull cage to keep cage. Her fur is a little course but it looks like she's starting to molt. Love her width.

I grabbed a couple quick pictures of some of my young gingers❤️. Now, to get them tattooed, which I am extremely behind on. I plan on repeating a few of my favorite crosses, but my main goal this spring is to see how the group of Black River animals cross in.

I didn't quite make it home due to some icy roads but so happy I made the trip to support the Central North Dakot Rabbit Club.

BB's Coco, - BOV Black, BOG and BOB Specialty, BOB show 2 and was 2nd runner up for BIS.

BB's Venus - BOV Black, BOG, and BOB show 3 and BIS.

Our Black Jr. Doe won her class and Jr. Buck won his class and I believe was BOSG in 2 shows.

Eva brought one rabbit, and Redelman's John was BOG Tan in all 3 youth shows and was BOB in Show 1 and BOS in Shows 2&3.

By far, the highlight was visiting with friends and enjoying great conversation. Thank you to all the judges and exhibitors that made the trip.

Eva and I made a last-minute trip down to the Arthur, IL show. It was a nice low-key show, and Eva was happy to have a mommy and me weekend.
Open show 1: I had good comments and a few class wins, including BOSG with our Black doe Coco.
Youth show 1: Eva had great comments on her juniors.

We had an ulterior motive and made a quick stop at Kenadie's to grab a pair of blacks she's been holding for me. KMR Lollipop and KMR Cash are settling great. Thank you again!

The Midwest Mini Rex Club is excited and honored to announce we are putting on a benefit show for a fellow youth mini rex breeder, Reo Renner. Miss Reo is 12 years old and is battling brain cancer- Medulloblastoma. She has a deep passion for her mini rex, and the club would love to support her journey by putting on a show dedicated to Reo!

We have decided to sanction six breeds (Mini Rex, Holland Lops, Netherland Dwarfs, Mini Satins, Satins, American Fuzzy Lops, and Himalayans) for this show. It will also include a youth workshop at the end of the day.

We truly hope to see you at this show supporting Reo!

Another Convention has come and gone, and I hope all of our rabbit friends made it home safely. This year I was honored to be able to add the remaining red herd of long time red breeder Pam Brickner into the barn❤️. I cannot wait to start crossing them in. Also, a big thank you to Rose Arbor Rabbitry - Dori Smith for the cutest little buck.
None of our entry came from home because we did not have the coats so I cannot take any credit except purchasing the coop lol.
I let a couple animals see the table and was happy with the results.

A little about us

Welcome, our rabbitry started with my sister Blair and I almost 20 years ago while we were in 4H. It was a hobby that we really enjoyed and began to show in ARBA shows. Over the years we have raised a number of different breeds along with our Mini Rex including American Fuzzy Lops, Satins, and French Lops. But now together, with my mom Marta we exclusively raise Mini Rex and a small herd of Satins.
