Facts are Facts… We try our hardest not make our dogs a statistic. Please consider fostering or adopting one of our many dogs! They are all fully vetted and most are trained and graduated from a CGC Puppies for Parole Training.

**Update: These pups are in foster homes, thanks to foster families and Central Missouri Humane Society.
A Good Samaritan brought this mama in from the cold and she delivered 10 puppies (5 males and 5 females). If you can foster or sponsor these pups, please call PAWS at 660-248-2739. The person who took the mama in cannot keep them after Jan 25th. The pups were born on Dec. 18th.

Courtesy Post:::: Athena is a 10 month old sweet girl. Believed to be a shepard, labrador mix. She is not spayed, but knows sit, lay down and is leashed trained. She is 98% house trained and working on it. She is free to a good home and current owners would supply bowls and a kennel. Please call 217-204-3543. Courtesy Post:::::: This very sweet, female hound dog has been found not once but twice. She was first posted on a Sweet Springs community page on Nov. 28th. On that post, she was spotted around the Dunksburg/Lamont area. Then she was seen again on Dec. 10th south of Sweet Springs off of Highway 127 on a gravel road. The person who found her on Dec. 10th picked her up and found another kind person to foster her.

This hound dog is VERY well behaved. She sits quietly while in a vehicle. She walks perfectly on a leash.

She possibly is spayed. There appears to be a tattoo on her belly that indicates a spay.

She appears to be 6 months to a year old.

If this is your dog, call Kim at 573-694-3150 or 660-202-2602. Leave a message.

Our Story

PAWS provides medical care to dogs in the City Dog Pound and fosters unclaimed pound dogs that are adoptable, providing them with medical care, vet services, and a safe haven until a good home is found. At times, PAWS must donate funds and resources to other non-profit rescue groups in order to properly foster and care for adoptable animals. We provide transportation for owned pets, not just from the City of Fayette, but also for animals from Boonville, New Franklin, Armstrong, Glasgow and other communities that reach out to us for help with low cost vet services. When possible we assist other area city animal shelters in finding homes for adoptable animals. In conjunction with the Feral Cat Ordinance, PAWS not only traps and transports stray and feral cats for spay, neuter, and vaccination, but we absorb the costs for these services. PAWS offers educational programs for schools, groups, and other organizations. We participate in local events in order to share our message of responsible pet ownership. We have a phone "Hot Line" and can help people with specific animal care issues, network to help find a lost dog or reunite a found dog with it's owner, and offer a number of other resources to make the animal population in our area safe, healthy, and properly cared for.
