JCAS TNR

JCAS TNR JCAS TNR is a program in which feral and/or free roaming cats are trapped, neutered, then released. TNR stands for TRAP NEUTER and RETURN.

This is a program in which feral and/or free roaming cats are trapped, spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated including the rabies vaccine and have their ear tipped. (This is a procedure in which a small notch is taken from the top of the left ear). After surgery, the cat is released back into the area from where it was originally found. These cats are referred to as ‘community cats’, which simply mea

ns an unowned stray, friendly or feral (un-socialized) cat that lives outdoors. Many friendly cats are in the TNR Program because they are unable to find homes in the shelter. When the shelters become overcrowded, TNR is a better alternative for the cat when compared to euthanasia.

🚨BARN CAT IN SEARCH OF NEW OUTDOOR HOME!!!🚨

Meet Oatmeal! Oatmeal is a ~1 year old DSH kitty that is looking for a new outside/barn home to call her own. She is very unhappy here at the shelter and would love to find her new home quickly! We do feel once Oatmeal warms up in her new environment, she may be friendly towards her caretakers. However, it is difficult to know for sure right now with how stressed out she is here. Oatmeal won’t be ready to go home until after June 8th, but we would love to find her new family now so she has somewhere to go once she is good and ready. Oatmeal’s new home will need to have an area where she can be confined for a bit until she feels comfortable with her new surroundings. We do not know how she does around other animals.

🔔BARN CAT LOOKING FOR A NEW OUTDOOR HOME! 🔔

Meet Gibson! He is a 3 year old DSH who would love to find a new place to go quickly as he thinks being here at the shelter a bit too scary. Gibson will need someone who can introduce him to the barn/outdoor life slowly, as we are unsure of how much he actually knows. He will need to be kept confined for a few weeks so he can adjust to his environment before being let out to roam. Gibson will also need access to a safe shelter 24/7 as this is all pretty new to him. Does Gibson sound like a good fit for you?

UPDATE: NO LONGER AVAILABLE!!!

🔔Barn kitty looking for a new outdoor home! 🔔

Meet Oakley! She is a very scared kitty who would love to find a nice barn home quickly to call her own! Oakley came from a situation where she was never properly socialized, and therefore most likely will never do well as an indoor pet. She will need a little bit more care than your basic barn/working cat though. Oakley is new to the working/barn cat world and will need someone who is willing and able to keep her confined for many weeks so she can adjust to her new environment, and so she doesn't just run off when she is finally released. Oakley will require a barn that she has access to 24/7, and where she can be closed in at night as she doesn't necessarily have 'street smarts.' We know Oakley does well with other cats and would probably find comfort in a barn home where there are other cats to keep her company. Does Oakley sound like the kitty for you?

UPDATE: NO LONGER AVAILABLE!!!

🔔 Barn kitty looking for his new outside home! 🔔

Meet Klaus! He is a 5 year old DSH. Klaus would love to find his new outside home quickly as he really doesn't like it here at the shelter. Klaus will need a slow introduction to the outdoor life as its pretty new to him. He has been practicing his hunting skills on his toy mice though, and now he's ready for the real thing! His new family will need to be able to keep him confined for many weeks so he can adjust to his new environment and feel safe once he is allowed to roam. Klaus can be friendly once he feels comfortable with his situation, but this takes him time. His family will need to give him his space until he feels safe, and they will need to let Klaus decide if and when he wants affection. Does Klaus sound like a good fit for you?
