Join us for an enlightening “SERVICE DOG 101 Workshop” designed for individuals interested in understanding the fundamentals of service dog acquisition, training, and legalities. Whether you’re considering getting a service dog or are curious about the process, this workshop offers a comprehensive guide to help you begin the journey.

First Hour: The first part of this workshop will be an informational presentation by our certified service dog trainer, Corey Silva ABCSDT. He will provide insights into selecting the right breed, understanding service dog laws, and the intricacies of task training.

Second Hour: Observe Corey train a limited number of “working teams” and demonstration of common service dog behaviors and task foundations.

Cost: $50 per person
Note: Only current service dogs or working team dogs allowed.

This workshop is perfect for future service dog owners, trainers, or anyone interested in the field.

Working Teams: Would you, and your dog, like to work with Corey during the second hour to learn and demonstrate some common service dog behaviors and task foundations for an extra fee of $25?

Working Team Dog Requirement: Dogs must have completed a Grad Puppy, Continuing Education, class and not be reactive or aggressive.

"Why I shouldnt walk and run beside you today. Because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. So I walk and run beside you, standing still if I have to. All while I feel my paws burning. Even as little as 5 minutes can be fatal to me and to my paws. My whole body starts boiling, but I’ll keep going because I am as loyal as loyal comes. I depend on you to know what’s in my best interest. So instead, let me stay at home where I can enjoy the sun, with a large bowl of water, somewhere in the shade. A cool area with grass would be best. With all the love I have in the whole world - I give it all to you - Love your dog 🩷🐾 "

I am thrilled to make a special announcement that is particularly close to my heart. This year, MasterPeace Dog Training is launching a Service Dog Program specifically designed for owner-trainers.

Today, May 30 is “World MS” day, an international awareness day for everyone affected by multiple sclerosis (MS). Seven years ago, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. One morning, I woke up with tingling in my hands, which eventually led to a temporary loss of control. This challenging experience ignited my dream of training a retriever to assist me as my “backup hands.” During my journey, I discovered the scarcity of resources available for owners who wish to train their own service dogs, despite it being entirely legal and reasonable under the ADA.

I am excited to introduce the MasterPeace Service Dog Program, the resource I once sought. MasterPeace Dog Training is uniquely positioned to support individuals from puppy kindergarten to specialized task training. Starting this August, I will be offering a “Service Dog Task Foundations” class.

Our program will also feature:

• Quarterly Service Dog 101 Workshops
• Public Access Training
• The “MasterPeace Public Access Test”
• And much more
