Alachua County has updated their Rabies License Policy.

Rabies tags may be purchased at the time of vaccination through our hospital for $28, which includes the first year of licensing, or directly through the Alachua County website. If your pet received a 3 Year Rabies Vaccine, please understand that the Rabies License is still renewed yearly.

If your pet is due for Rabies License Renewal at a time when their vaccine is not due, please renew directly through the Alachua County website.

If you need a copy of your pet’s Rabies Certificate, call or email us and we will be happy to send it to you.

Thank you for your understanding in this Alachua County Policy change. If we can help you in any way during this transition, please let us know.

Did you know that every dog, cat, and ferret over 4 months of age in Alachua County is required to be licensed? 🐶🐱 With our new digital option for licensing, it's never been easier! After you register and pay the $25 annual fee, you will receive a tag with a bar code unique to your pet, so if your pet is ever found, this will help them get home much faster.

Poochies Community, thank you so much for your amazing support this past week, ESPECIALLY yesterday! Forget about Giving Tuesday, this week it’s THANKING Tuesday!

Yesterday, our Foster Coordinator and Social Media Manager went on a 13 hour total round-trip from Hawthorne, to Gainesville, to Starke, all the way to Jacksonville, and back! They transported a total of at least 13 animals to our wonderful Foster Homes and quite a handful to be vetted at the wonderful TVC. Thank you Summer Duke Pridgen and Leighton Burton!

Thank you to the 4 terrific foster homes that accepted puppies yesterday, Emily Heineman, Natalie Bentzel, Angela Sistruck, and Kelsey Eging ❤️ Without yours and your families’ support we could NEVER do what we’ve done this week.

To The Veterinary Center at Hunter's Crossing, thank you SO MUCH for seeing over a dozen of our Poochies pups yesterday! Dr. Brandenburg and her team are by far the most welcoming and skilled practice in Gainesville, and days like yesterday remind us of why we love y’all so much!

To the two adopters who took home Poochies Pets yesterday, thank you for giving sweet Francisco and silly Patches a chance at a loving forever home! We look forward to seeing your families fall in love with these two boys like we have ❤️❤️

Thank you to EVERY donor we have had in the past week! Your donations have paid vet bills, bought supplies, funded transportation, and so much more!
