The gorgeous Mexican Sedum. I could write love notes to this ground cover. I ADORE it. I propagated it over 15 years ago and it is the hardiest, fastest growing, most GORGEOUS at every stage, ground cover I’ve ever seen. And rare too, might I add. One pot of this will cover two feet of area in a few weeks. It flowers a bright yellow in the summer. It literally glows. And to plant it? Literally throw it on loose soil. That’s it. You need this sedum in your life.

One of our favorite things to do is hike around to explore what’s in bloom. We’ll be sharing our findings and interesting facts for you here. We’d love to see what you have blooming in your area too!

This is along some railroad tracks behind our house in Tennessee. It’s the Phacelia purshii. Common names are Miami mist, scorpionweed, and purple scorpionweed. Spring flowering and annual with blue, lavender, violet, or nearly white flowers in the Boraginaceae (borage) family that is native to eastern and central North America.
