Meet our new rehab project, Hipster! He was retired from racing with an injury that the owners wanted to have operated to give him the best chance to excel in a future career. Dr. Wes Sutter performed his fetlock arthroscopy and we are going to use some cutting edge biologics and shockwave to help him heal correctly and help prevent recurrence. Stay tuned for updates!

What a huge loss to the veterinary community and the world. My deepest condolences to Ty’s family and friends. He was such a huge influence to all that knew him and his work.

It is with the heaviest of hearts we announce the untimely passing of our founding partner, Dr. Ty Wallis.

A natural born leader, Ty was so many things to so many people. A friend. Son. Equine Veterinarian. Surgeon. Mentor. Pilot. Philanthropist. Above all else, he was an amazing husband and father to the loves of his life, Kristen and Hattie.

Equine Athlete Veterinary Services would not be what it is today without his ideas, talent and leadership. We are all better veterinarians and people because of his influence.

Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of love and support. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Wallis family during this extremely difficult time.

SSE boarders and clients!! I just want to let you know that the horses are all under cover, dry, and safe. Please don’t try to drive and if you need anything let me know. We have plenty of feed, hay, and bedding so stay safe!

PSA for all clients and boarders: the horses are all happy, healthy, and hydrated! If you don’t have 4WD I would avoid Old Oxford and the barn parking lot. If you need anything extra done for your horses just let me know and stay safe!!

We will have one stall coming available December 1 as one of our beloved layups gets to go home! Currently only full care board is offered which includes feeding grain of your choice twice per day, free choice high quality hay, blanket changes, and picking feet. SSE is a small, quiet farm with a mixture of horses rehabbing and a great group of a few boarders, mainly Eventing but western as well. We specialize in attention to detail and individual care plans for the horses. Small turnout groups or individual for an additional fee. Let me know if you’d like to come by!

20 years ago today, our country and the world changed forever. On this national day of reflection, we remember the 2,977 individuals who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, as well as every first responder who selflessly rushed into harm’s way, saving hundreds of lives.

Lord Darby was absolutely phenomenal in his show jumping round at Maydaze Horse Trials at the Kentucky Horse Park on Friday. He is jumping bolder than ever, and we hit every distance in a course that had down many rails. I am so excited for the season with this animal that gives his all when he feels his best. It was a big day at the farm. We started with an early morning foaling, visited with some amazing vets to check up on layup horses, and Calvin and Darby got incredible rides from Waylon Roberts that left me feeling so excited about their futures. His ability to calm and reassure every horse he rides is really inspiring
