Sorry it's been a bit. Time is flying by. He's a clip of Erika and Bazzi at MSU for the Halloween show doing a showmanship pattern.

Even though we had 3 of our own horses, Erika was obsessed with Bazzi. She would always go by him when we were at the barn. One of the boarders told us to watch ourselves around him as he was "crazy". He had no personal space and always tried to nip. It didn't stop us from cleaning his stall and turning him out on a regular. He was tall, skinny, uncoordinated and ditzy. Much of which was pawned off to him being a baby and in that awkward stage. He acted as if he was a toddler with ADD. He wouldn't watch where he was going and he was constantly tripping on his own feet. At times, Bazzi would run out of grain. Since he was so scrawny already, we would give him our grain so he wouldn't go without. Even with that his weight continued to drop. We had our own horses to care for, but couldn't help but to try to help him out. When the cold weather hit, I asked if we could blanket Bazzi as he would be shivering. I was concerned that he was using so much energy trying to stay warm he was loosing more weight and his coat was starting to dull. His owner was trying and she has a heart of gold, but something was definitely going on with him. By this time other boarders we're getting concerned about him as well. He was hippy, you could see most of his ribs, shoulder plate, etc. His owner was trying. She tried different kinds of things to see if it helped. Red cell, poultry probiotics, but nothing was consistent or helping. His owner was trying but had so much on her plate that Bazzi just wasn't getting better.

We first met Heir of Asgard aka "Bazzi" when we moved barns in February 2019. Erika immediately was drawn to him. I remember it very clearly as we were doing a walk through of the barn and he was in the corner aisle stall and he was pacing anxiously. Erika commented on how pretty he was. He was owned by Taylor, the manager of the barn at the time. She informed us that he was doing much better being stalled, but was a little crazy being in a stall and she had moved him to a few different stalls to see if it would settle him down. He was still very young as he was just shy of 2 years old. You could tell Erika was hooked and the tour was done for her and she basically just stayed by him.

Welcome! Thank you for checking out my little blog about a very heartfelt, feel good story about one girl, one horse, and a "village" that never gave up. Let me start by saying that none of this story would be possible if not for the kindness, determination, advice, and support of so many. Over the next few posts, I will try to tell you the story that has been unfolding between a young horse and the girl that never gave up on him.
