Pad for Paws would like to extend our deepest apologies to our dedicated volunteers that have helped us over the past 8 years with Beerfest. We've been gearing up for our biggest fundraiser of the year and sadly one of our volunteers noticed that we were not on the Beerfest flyer this year as a partner with the Helena Exchange Club. We want you to know that Lewis and Clark Brewery has been more than wonderful to us and our organization and they had nothing to do with this change in venue. We appreciate the numerous calls, texts and messengers asking for an explanation. Unfortunately, we were dropped by the Helena Exchange Club without any communication or notification and feel we owe our volunteers a public apology for your time and efforts this year. We're saddened that there wasn't a more professional way of handling this however we are thankful for the years that our supporters showed up for us and the animals in our community. We are moving forward and again thank you for supporting Pad for Paws.

The purpose of the Pad for Paws Foundation is to support the welfare of domestic animals in Helena, Montana and the surrounding area by providing resources, education, and services that jointly benefit these animals, their owners, and the communities we serve.

Update: We are overwhelmed with the support that we've received for Abby so first and foremost thank you for your shares, prayers, donations and caring comments regarding Abby. When we took Abby in we weren't honestly sure if she would make it but with prayers and amazing vet care from Apex Animal Hospital we can say she's on her way to recovery. She's gained 4 lbs in a short amount of time and gaining strength every day. Abby does have an adopter in place and a potential back up adopter as well. Both candidates are out of this world amazing. Thank you to everyone who supported Abby in her fight for life, without you we couldn't have done it.

Meet Abby an 8 month old border collie puppy who was found lying on the top of a garbage can covered in snow. Amazingly her body caught the eye of a person driving by and they immediately stopped and ran to this poor pup to see if she was still alive and breathing. Initially they thought she had passed as she was completely lifeless. Shockingly when the citizen put their hand on her freezing cold body, Abby opened one eye and let out a faint cry. Quickly this caring citizen ran to the residence and inquired about her while asking for help. The owner stated that she was dying and to just take her away (be advised that law enforcement is involved). This lovely person picked up her lifeless body and wrapped her in a blanket and immediately drove her to the vet for emergency care. Upon Abby’s arrival her intake revealed that she was covered in f***s, starving, emaciated, dehydrated, suffering from hypothermia and anemic which is requiring IV infusions. Due to her emergent situation, Apex Animal Hospital sprung into action with their excellent care and administered life saving actions. Slowly Abby is making progress and can now barely stand on her own again. We are rooting for Abby’s comeback and would appreciate any donation towards Abby’s care as no donation is too small. Pad for Paws is 100% volunteer based and your entire donation will go towards the care for Abby. We thank you for extending a paw for her and will keep you updated on her condition and progress.

Here's a deaf and abandoned kitty that Pad for Paws is sponsoring with cat food and litter. Her name is Eden and she's looking for a warm, loving home.

Pictured is Helen and Alicia Byers who annually donate cat food to Pad for Paws. Yesterday they came to the Pad for Paws building and delivered several bags of dry cat food, several boxes of canned cat food, and 2 boxes full of holiday gift bags they assemble that contain “cat” and “kitten” related items. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these gals and thank them for their generosity while supporting the cats/kittens of our community.

Update: Pearl has been adopted and her family is military so they have chosen the donation from Mutts in Montana go back to Pad for Paws: Thank you to this wonderful family for giving her a perfect home!

Courtesy List:
Meet our new lovely lady Pearl a 7 month old female domestic short haired tabby. This beautiful young lady was discovered in a home hiding under a sewing machine. Sadly she suffered some altercation with another animal and had puncture marks to her back side. Luckily Pearl escaped and found herself a warm spot in a lady's home under her sewing machine. We checked with the local shelter and she has gone unclaimed. Currently Pearl is in foster and as you can see this young kitten has the most dazzling good looks and she sits with her paws ever so daintily. She’s a little gal who’s on the quiet, reserved side and is quite content with being off the streets. Pearl is litter box trained and is acclimated to well behaved dogs and cats. She was spayed on 08/24/22, is current on her vaccines and is negative for feline leukemia. This sweet very affectionate kitten fancies a cuddly lap as she purrs the day away. Pearls adoption fee is sponsored by Mutts in Montana and because we love our rescue friends we’ll be giving back an adoption fee to the adopters 501c3 choice in the state of Montana who rescues cats, kittens, dogs or provides welfare for animals in need. Please send us a messenger or email [email protected] for an application.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that our dear friend and Board member, Nancy Kraft passed away this afternoon. As many of you know Nancy had been struggling with surgery complications. Nancy was a great friend, a true animal lover, and a very hard working board member. Her smile and laugh will be remembered forever. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. RIP Nancy we love you.
