The horses enjoyed a nice clean pasture yesterday and Steve even got brave enough to check out the p**p trailer! This little golf cart was hands down the best purchase of 2024!

Surprise #2

Meet Ember! The newest family member. Ember is a timid little pony who is in foal and due in the Spring. She comes from a rough past and is very afraid of people.

Today Miss Maggie had her teeth checked out further by an Equine dentist. Maggie was a little thin when we got her and she was having trouble chewing her hay so we had the vet out to float her teeth. The vet gave us a pretty poor prognosis on her teeth, she said that Maggie’s teeth were expired and if the float didn’t help we should have an Equine dentist out to see if she had any loose or infected teeth.

Fast forward to today…

We are happy to say that Maggie’s teeth are not expired! She has periodontal disease but for an older gal (she’s roughly 27-30) her teeth are in pretty good shape. The dentist was able to build her a crown to close in some gaps so she can eat more comfortably.

While this isn’t the perfect diagnosis we are just happy that she will be more comfortable now.

Welcome to Walnut Grove Equestrian Center. We offer English riding lessons for all ages. Our focus centers on a strong focus on developing core riding skills. We are a small private facility where you will feel at home. Our horses are rescues and are all very sweet. We have a clubhouse where you can warm up by the wood stove as well as make a cup of coffee or hot chocolate on cold days, or sit out on the porch and enjoy the quiet serenity of our beautiful farm. Training:

We offer pony training. Our lead trainer has the blessing of being petite and the ability to transform ponies into wonderful kids mounts, lesson horses, or whatever you are seeking.

30, 60, or 90 day training available. Board is included in the training price. Lessons are also included for the owner. We feel that it’s crucial for the owner to be involved during the training process.

We do accept non-pony sized clients on a case by case basis. Please contact us for more information.
