This transformation makes me so happy. It’s great when you watch a cat go from “I hate it here” to “wow this place is great and I love you all!!!” After letting Friday up into the front room she’s the happiest girl on earth! We have had her for a few months and she is typically sweet but cranky and easily overstimulated. The cat room is just not for her. Now that she has front room privileges she goes in and out as she pleases and is a much happier girl! She enjoys the window, the peace, the cat tree in the sun, and she’s even friends with Nala!

Friday is an 8 year old polydactyl lady who would be amazing in a home. She does well with other cats she just needs peace. She loves to sit in a lap and get a million kisses. Once she knows you she’s a major Velcro cat ❤️

Ruffle’s brother Muncho was posted today with a little bit about his FIP journey, and this sister is so excited to see her brother getting back to his quirky self! These two are normally inseparable but when Muncho wasn’t feeling great before starting meds she started to distance herself a little bit from her brother. That’s something that often happens with cat siblings when they get an inkling that something is wrong with their other half. We honestly don’t deserve cats at all, but we get the pleasure of being able to observe these amazing creatures! Now that Muncho is starting to act more like himself, Ruffles has been so happy to have her brother back. (You can even see him walk by in the back of this photo proving that they’re never too far from each other!) We’re open all weekend, so be sure to come hangout with the chip siblings!!

Checkout Muncho!!!! He’s been on FIP pills for less than a week and he’s back to his old self again! Unless the virus is super advanced and your cat’s quality of life is suffering, please don’t let your vet tell you to euthanize for FIP. You’d be surprised how little experience many vets have in FIP.

FIP is symptom based and there’s no definitive test for it BUT if your cat is coronavirus + as 90% of cats are, and the symptoms line up, it’s possible he or she has FIP. How did we know Muncho had it? He wasn’t the cuddly, social guy he usually was and despite eating normally, he lost nearly 1lb in 3 weeks following his neuter.

There are a few types of FIP so it’s important to educate yourself before letting someone without much knowledge make a life or death decision for your cat. FIP happens when the coronavirus gene mutates randomly or due to a stressful event like a move or surgery, etc. It is NOT contagious.

If you need any advice we are always here to help ❤️ Yay Muncho 🎉🎉🎉

I don’t typically ask for advice on here bc most things we deal with are common, but my girl Sunshine has me confused!! We took her from the shelter a while back and she was a typical ex-colony queen, sassy old lady. A couple months later she seemed like she was dying and was weak and sick and I took her home. She perked up and was back to normal in 2 days. We call this the “fake dying act” to get into a home 😆🫣 I recently took her to the vet for full bloodwork and exam and I would have bet my life she was a hyperthyroid lady, but her bloodwork was perfect. No thyroid problems, no diabetes, kidneys PRETTY good. This was almost disappointing bc it’s clear something is wrong.

Sunshine is RAVENOUS and will eat 20 squeeze ups a day (I know this isn’t nutritious but it’s the only thing that calms her down). She eats regular cat food too. Like multiple cans per day and the food of her roommates. She’s incredibly skinny. Her hair is super thin and patchy. I thought ringworm at first since I bring ringworm fosters home but it’s been months now and no one in my house has it, and it’s her whole body. This weekend I noticed these terrible sores on her feet 😩🥺 Also she doesn’t use the litter to p*e. She drinks a ton and p*es often, but only on pads (and bathroom rugs).

Any ideas? I’ve had many seniors act semi similar and nothing was wrong but her skin and sores paired with all of these other symptoms leads me to maybe Cushings? Anyone have experience with this? Does anything else come to mind besides thyroid and diabetes?

Taking her to the vet is hard bc she’s loses her mind during restraint but we can work that out with some gabapentin and churu. I just feel terrible for her. ☀️☀️☀️

Tia (left) and Tamera (right) are two sisters who we have had at the kitten lounge since July of this past summer. Their mom and brothers were adopted in August and now they know their turn is right around the corner! They are about 8 months now and have come a LONG way since we first got them. The sisters have really blossomed in front of our eyes, it’s so great to see them 🥹 These bonded sisters are super beautiful and ready for suitors so come take them away from the kitten lounge. 😜 We’re open on the kitten lounge from 1-7 during the week, 11-8 on Saturdays, and 11-7 on Sundays. Come hangout!

Mama Cali gets cuter by the day……& more comfortable here which truly warms my heart. She doesn’t run or hide, she just hangs out waiting for someone to fall in love with her ❤️ All of us already have, so I think her forever home will come soon. She’s 7-8 years old and an absolute angel. Mama Cali is a gentle soul who would do well in any calm home with or without other cats.
