Last night I stood behind the desk talking to a visitor for 25 min w this kitten on my shoe. Cheerio used to do that too. Jenny & Little Debbie made the sweetest little babies 🥹 Come visit us on this rainy Saturday but come after 12:30p, as we have a private party this morning 💕

💫Did you know that a cat can have zero teeth but still have MAJOR dental problems?? I didn’t! Well I know sometimes they still have issues with their gums or stomatitis (ulcers), but Sammy taught me something new last night. Sammy is a middle aged FIV+ sweetheart who has terrible mouth pain. If you’ve ever had dental pain you know it’s one of the WORST pains. We had him at the vet for X-rays yesterday which showed he still had tons of roots! Apparently even with no teeth, the root is the ROOT of the pain!! He had every single remaining root removed (OUCH!) and got some magical steroids and pain meds, and little Sammy is on his way to a happier pain free life! I selfishly hope he has his tongue out permanently bc it’s very cute but I think it was just his heavy duty drugs.

Cats are the best 🩷 In memory of Cheerio, Jenny took Pie under her wing and baby Chex accepts her as her sister. They all needed something to fill a void and they all found that in each other. The things that go on here truly fill my soul.

This is the platform of love. If you’re having a bad day and you sit there, you will get swarmed by teddy bear cats to take all of your cares and woes away. I sit here multiple times a day and the warmth of their little bellies are immediate stress relievers! I say it a lot, but we have a really great group right now 🧡

Thanksgiving is a little over a week away, so that means it’s officially the holiday season! With the holidays coming up that also means events and cafe closures. 🦃 So here’s a list of our upcoming schedule!

Sunday 11/24: 10 am Yoga with Cats! $15 per person, please bring your own yoga mats. 💕
Thursday 11/28: We’ll be closed for Thanksgiving
Saturday 11/30: 7 pm Taylor Swift Eras Tour Watch Party! $22 per person. We’ll be watching the Eras Tour and making bracelets/crafts.

Then.. SANTA IS COMING TO TOWN!!! (And we know him!) Sunday 12/8 from 11-1 and Sunday 12/15 from 11-1 Santa will be here for photos. $10 per family, pictures will be emailed to you. 🎅🏼

But don’t worry… The Grinch will be here 12/8 from 1-2! $10 per family, photos will be emailed to you.

Baby Pie is definitely missing her baby buddy Cheerio but she is ok. She has been warming up to Cheerio’s sister Chex, and Mama Jenny, and will be rooming with them for a little bit.

Tomorrow is her leg amputation surgery!! She’s just under 3lbs but she’s healthy and strong and will be better than ever without this useless limb. If you’d like to contribute to her surgical fund and receive updates on her healing journey, we would appreciate it so much!

Lima Bean (tabby girl) and Mung Bean (tuxedo boy) have pretty much grown up at the cafe and it confuses us every single day on why they’re still here awaiting their forever home. Everyone only wants one of them, but they make it obvious that they plan on spending the rest of their lives together. 🥹 These siblings have been thru a lot and deserve to see their forever home! We’re open tomorrow at noon, come give these beans some love. 💕

We got Big Poppa aka “Raul” and Toby was VERY happy to see him. This hoarder house is like one of those reality shows where everyone dates each other, or whatever they do on those things. This big long haired hunk is very likely the ex husband and baby daddy to many of the cats over there, and when he walked into the cafe the whole place went silent.

We had Little Debbie & Mama Jenny demanding child support, Toby attempting to assert dominance (even though we neutered him), children screaming “DADDY!!!!”, and girl cats who got away without babies or ties to him, letting out loud sighs of relief.

I was nervous to take this cat. I imagined him to be very dominant and wild……..well he isn’t, and I think that was his superpower over there. He gorgeous and as sweet as can be, and makes muffins constantly, but has an insecure attitude which probably makes him attractive to the girls. I literally had to pull his muscular self out of the carrier after 4 hours at the cafe bc he was so nervous. Maybe bc he was in a room full of exes and rivals, or bc he’s a gentle giant in a new place.

I’ll introduce you to the last of the hoarder cats tomorrow, but for now, here’s Raul. He will be neutered asap, but until then he will make everyone feel uncomfortable when he walks away 🎾🎾

Little Baby Pie had a really good day today. She had a warm bath, sunbathed, played, screamed to get out of her cage, used her litter, and just had her second dinner with uncle Acorn. The vet visit yesterday determined amputation of her leg would be best, as she broke it at the very top, and most likely has no feeling in it. She gets pain medication throughout the day and she seems to be pain free and antsy to get out and play! Her surgery is scheduled for 11/21 and we will do our best to get her to 3lbs by then!

So a lot of the time life in rescue is heartbreak after heartbreak... and a ton of the time you lose faith in humans. HOWEVER this week our faith in humans have been restored with the help of all of you who continue to follow us and allow us to keep moving forward?

Yesterday was such an amazing day.. Ranger finally got to go back home AND we had an extremely special triple adoption! Dill & Pickles came to us in August as two scared brothers who were absolutely amazing but hid in the back room 24/7. Lucy our slightly feral little kitten found an extreme love with the two of them deciding that they were her dads. The only problem with that though was that Dill and Pickles were set to go to their forever homes Monday night.. with Lucy seemingly left behind here at the cafe. Until his amazing adopters came in and saw how much she LOVED the boys she was taking home. It didn’t take much convincing for Adrianna to add the little spicy girl to her family. Now Lucy gets the chance to be loved forever by her ‘dads’ and new mom. 💕

❤️Thank you Adrianna for giving Lucy a new lease on life. 🥹

Taz decided that he needed to help us update the website… and then we didn’t get to finish updating the website. 😂😂 Who could say no to this little love?! He is the last of his litter to be adopted, but it doesn’t make any sense to us because he is a super sweet guy. Taz is a little shy at first but once he warms up he is beyond phenomenal! We’re open until 8 tonight, come meet your new forever family member. 😻😻

We’ll be watching Taylor’s Full Eras Tour uninterrupted while making friendship bracelets! We’ll also have a bunch of Taylor Swift themed giveaways. As well as a non-alcoholic featured beverage! The movie will start promptly at 7:15 pm.

The big kids are here and they’re looking for a foster to adopt situation. Cosmic Brownie & Nutty Buddy are a good pair and Oatmeal Cream Pie can be adopted separately to a home with another kitten or young cat. CB & NB aren’t bonded bonded but if you’re looking for a pair, those 2 do amazing together. They’ll be spayed/neutered in late November or early December but I’d love them to find their forever homes sooner than that. They’re hidden in a secret bubble at the cafe so if you’re interested in meeting them let us know! They’re REALLY REALLY great kittens.

Trinket is exactly us on this Sunday morning, even though we should all be extra rested from that extra hour of sleep! (Somehow we aren’t tho????? 🤪) We’re closed from 12-130 today for a private party, so get your cat naps in then!

We snagged a ton of really amazing cats from a recent hoarding house a few weeks ago and somehow a bunch of them still haven’t been adopted! That baffles us daily because every single cat from that house has been absolutely perfect. This is Birdie, a 2 year old angel of a woman that just wants love 24/7. We’re open all weekend for cat snuggles, don’t miss out on these ladies! 💕

Sometimes the nicest cats go unnoticed for so long and it makes no sense. Jasmine is 6 and so mellow and sweet but months pass and she still waits for her forever home. She’s pretty perfect and would do well anywhere. It’s hard with the perfect, more mellow cats bc they just don’t “stand out” but we know the right person will come along and see Jasmine for the angel that she is!
