Reinforcing the crate, playpen, exercise pen. It's cool place!
Whether it's a new puppy, or newly adopted rescue..
Here's three helpful tips:
One: Make going in and out of this place a rewarding thing by placing her toys in the nap area. ( Besides treats. of course) With the door open. Free to come and go as she wants.
Especially if the pup has a high Ball drive! lol
Two: when playing fetch, just "happen" to throw the favorite ball or toy inside the open door. Reward the entry! and retrieve.
Three: After you have taught to settle on a mat..get a duplicate of your "Settle" mat and place it just outside the door that is open.
Wha-La! you have three great reinforcers of the place that they may initially be afraid of or not like at all!

Excellent Student Trainer Xayla on microphone and the pawsome "demo teams" at work for you!
Stays... raising the criteria by adding some movement.
Demo Teams... let's show them how to do it! woof woof! ;)
Excellent! Building on your "watch me"...
" Watch me!" outdoors, with a distraction!
Way to train ladies! woof woof!
Also, way to train Xayla! ;)
Him's a "wiggle butt" <3
And a cute name to boot!
"Munch" ( Gooo AJ!)
CUTENESS ALERT! "JACK"...
The cutest upside down- Down Stay...
I have ever seen!
This is why we LOVE puppies!!! ;)
Leash Works- "Let's Go".
Sometimes you may need to go in the opposite direction to avoid an oncoming distraction.
Remember to keep the cue "let's go" the same on each turn. Simple and short. We are not leash jerking the puppy into a turnaround, you are giving him a HeadsUp! with this cue... we are going to chance direction. When do you click/yes?
As your pup is making the turn.
Be encouraging with each step your pup makes in the turning direction.
Very good Maisie and Charlotte! ;)
JACK!!! looking like a pro today!
SIT-DOWN-STAND! .... bam!
Gooooo Team Jack ;)
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a Mentor Trainer is watching the students REALLY enjoy learning and having fun too! Go Xayla and Shilynne! whoot whoot!

"OFF!" - make your signal clear. And make it a fun game at first. ;)

Excellent hand signals and EXCELLENT RESET!
Way to train Tadd...and Good Boy! Axel!
"BUCK" - I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He loved having a "job" out of his station. Here's Matt luring him through. Way to go guys!
Training the fun way! Using your signals and cues in a " series". You are fading treats for a single cue...and asking your pup to do something more. Have fun with your pup while getting fluency. Most Improved Dog: Mila, loves the challenge of a series.
Way to train! Vita, Chris and Mila! ;)
Goooo JACK! ... GO!!! check out little tyke Jack nailing his puppy pushups! WOW!
