Hi, welcome to Mutts with Manners! My name is Melissa and I am a certified professional dog trainer in Leland, NC. I’m certified in basic and advanced obedience, behavior modification, utility, dog care, breed identification, and puppy development. Reach out to me on here and I would love to help you with your dog. All training is done in your home or outside and is hands on.

I’ve known working with animals is what I wanted to for as long as I can remember! I loved my dogs and all my other pets and originally wanted to be a veterinarian however after a high school internship at a veterinary hospital I knew that wasn’t for me.

I realized training dogs was what I wanted to do after I reached out to a dog trainer for my dog Murphy due to some behavioral issues. After our second session I looked into National K9 school for dog trainers and applied. I graduated in early October of this year and started to get my name out with dog sitting, walking, and training.
