And we reach the sad time of the year where I have to say 'Sorry I am out of honey until June'.

The girls did good this year. I normally sell out by Christmas but had enough to last this long this year. Woot!

OK y'all. All my preorders have now been filled so I'm updating my listings on ALFN (based upon what labels I have already printed honestly). Let the honey sales commence!

The yearly challenge: I don't have enough equipment. Honey is flowing and I have no more boxes to put on the hives. So I need to extract next week if I can work out the logistics. Extraction party!!!

The bees have rebounded very quickly from swarming and appear to be quickly putting up honey. At this rate, I will be able to extract mid to late June!

This crazy spring has a definite effect on the nature of the bees. Instead of just one wave of swarms, I am experiencing the second wave now. This will push honey production out for sure probably a full month. Such is life. The Sweet Life that is.

These warm days have the bees foraging in large numbers. Early spring they are raising babies so pollen and nectar are crucial.

Please give a thought to delaying the mowing of weeds by an extra week. Those low growing plants flower now and are incredibly important.
