Hug your dog, your horse, your chinchilla or other furry, feathered or scaled friend and then remember to say thank you to an animal care provider today. They deserve it, and face it, it just feels good to share gratitude. Let us not forget all of those helping all animals through this difficult time. Veterinarians, vet techs, laboratories, distributors, rescue organizations, as well as fosters, shelters, pet food & feed manufacturers, pet & feed stores etc... they all make us able to properly care for our animals. Through their dedication they help us all stay a bit less stressed while helping owners and pets survive and even thrive during the Covid19 Pandemic. ALL MY GRATITUDE TO EVERY ANIMAL CARE PROVIDER EVERYWHERE❤️👍🏽🙏🏽

Due to the Covid19 Pandemic and our concern to restrict spread while continuing to offer essential services for our clients and patients, we are instituting some temporary changes indefinitely. We are still available to insure continuity of care for your horses but we are curtailing our services to exclude routine services for at least the next several weeks.
Our new temporary office hours are M - Sat 9am - 12pm.
Our awesome secretary, Donna Gray, will be available to answer calls, retrieve messages and dispense medications during those hours.
Please call ahead to make arrangements to pick up Rx's. All transactions will take place outside in the parking area to insure proper social distancing. Financial arrangements with credit cards should be done over the phone. Payments by check will still be accepted and we kindly ask that you mail them in or simply drop them through our mail slot on the front entrance door.
As we all work together as a team to help each other stay healthy and safe we wish you to know we sincerely appreciate your help and patience. We are striving to make things as easy as possible and encourage constructive dialog to help us meet that goal. Thank you.

Oh dear Lord, please send all the earth angels available to go and home these wonderful precious souls. A forever home for God’s greatest gift to mankind is the least we can do for man’s best friend. This post was first seen on the Operation Blankets of Love FB page and is shared by us here.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — They've been tossed over fences, tied to gates and even left with a $20 bill under their collar. Abandoned animals are overwhelming Puerto Rico's shelters, which were already struggling to cope with the hundreds of thousands of stray animals that were roaming the

Check out the link to one of our favorite magazines for equine health and well being. This magazine is great in that it is one of very very few that take a look at the horse from a more holistic view while still embracing modern medicine. Equine Wellness typically looks at the whole horse focusing on mind, body and nutrition. It's a very reasonably priced magazine with a heck of a lot of information packed inside and no, we don't get any kickback....we just want our patient's healthy and our clients educated. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

We highly recommend San Luis Rey Equine Hospital for our patients who are in need of hospitalization or extensive diagnostics. The facility is amazing and the staff are highly trained and compassionate. Of course, we always hope our patients never need to haul to a hospital, but for those times in need, SLREH is a place we can trust our patients will be cared for.

We already voted today, have you? Choose "other" for header and heeler and put Turtle Powell in as header and our son Dugan Kelly in as heeler. They are so deserving and it would be sensational to see them at the Allstar Roping Event!

This is a very scary action by the DEA which will probably lead to some serious repercussions in the large animal world. If all ambulatory veterinarians stop carrying euthanasia solution in order to comply, how many animals are going to suffer and how many veterinarians will be forced to break a ridiculous and outdated law to prevent that suffering?

All equine and large animal owners and even those small animal owners using mobile services should start hounding their state representatives and tell them this problem must be fixed ASAP!!!

Practitioners who carry drugs in vehicles told they're violating Controlled Substances Act.
