Call me "paranoid" but many people, especially transporters, don't understand how fast puppies blood sugar (especially one of this size) can quickly decline during transport. The stress of being in a new vehicle, in an unknown kennel, driving hundreds of miles being taken away from your family for the first time is nerve wrecking. Some dogs are okay with it and some are just a little more timid. The ones that are a little more timid, I keep my eyes on closer
This little girl got car sick. Even though her gums are great, she's showing no signs of dehydration, and she's even playing with the straw and my scrunchie in the video, I did stop and try to give her water, in which she denied. Because I am "paranoid", as some say, I gave her a little bit of high calorie gel and some water through a coffee straw! I didn't choose a syringe because I didn't need *that* much water, just a tiny bit and the coffee straw worked great!
I'm doing this because she lost calories getting car sick and I can tell she's a little nervous on the trip, which eats up more energy (calories).
All it takes is 2 minutes at your rest stop to prevent something drastic from happening. Take the two extra minutes to make sure everything is good. You have a precious life in your hands 💜

I loved seeing the Ice and Fire BorderCollies gang! Not only does Kayleigh have beautiful dogs (a sporty litter is about to be due!), but she has the best cats (she doesn't breed cats, just pets!) I definitely get my cat fix whenever I go over to pet sit 😆

This is another reason I love private transporting...
I love the transports that have really outgoing clients on the other end because jokes get made (such as the video below.. you'd have to be a part of this transport to understand this 🤣) and it makes the whole entire experience just so much more fun!
