To report sightings or observations, contact the County of County of Santa Clara Vector Control District at (800) 675-1155. If you encounter a coyote and feel threatened, do not hesitate to call 911.
As always, dogs must remain on-leash at Byrne Preserve. Please review this additional resource to keep your pets safe.

On this day in 1866, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was founded in New York City by philanthropist and diplomat Henry Bergh. His passion to protect animals was ignited after he was appointed by President Abraham Lincoln to a diplomatic post at the Russian court of Czar Alexander II. There, he was horrified to witness work horses beaten by their peasant drivers. To commemorate the founding of ASPCA, we share this photograph from 1981 of a horse at Westwind Barn in Los Altos Hills. Here, a paraplegic rider gets a helping hand onto the horse.

The Town of Los Altos Hills hosted the 20th Annual Hoppin’ Hounds Biscuit Hunt 🐶🐾🦴🐕🍩🦮🐕‍🦺☕️🐩 benefitting Pets In Need! Thank you to our dedicated volunteers and all attendees for your support! The horses loved seeing all their smaller four-legged friends 🐴

The Town of Los Altos Hills extended and renewed the Victoria Dye Equestrian LLC contract at the March 16, 2023 City Council Meeting. We are thrilled to continue our successful partnership. The initial contract was approved in 2014 with renewals taking place 2017 and 2020 (not pictured). We are looking forward to another impactful three years! Thank you, Torie Dye!

Spring Break Camp is a real Westwind Community Barn experience! Instructed by Victoria Dye Equestrian LLC for ages 7-16, the camp focuses on responsible, considerate care of horses in a park-like setting. Photos of 2022 campers.
