Chip visits us most often on a medication called Trazodone to help decrease his stress in the clinic. We've learned his quirks (and he's learned ours) and usually as long as we don't have to look in his ears we're all best friends 🥰

But really, how could anyone not love Larry?!

Larry has a history of recurrent urinary obstruction - this is where his urethra becomes plugged and he cannot p*e. This is most commonly seen in male cats and can be a life-threatening emergency if not diagnosed and addressed quickly.

After a few times of visiting the ER for obstruction, Larry recently had a PU surgery, or perineal urethrostomy, performed to shorten his urethra and significantly decrease his risk of obstruction. He has recovered from surgery beautifully and while we are still managing some intermittent bladder inflammation, we no longer worry about him obstructing. 🐱🐾💙

You should never stop learning - and at Candlewood Veterinary Clinic, we take that very seriously. We recently attended the Conference in Kansas City where each member of our medical team underwent 3 days of continuing education classes.

At this conference, we learned about cutting edge technology and techniques that are new to the world of veterinary medicine. We love applying what we learned at this conference to better serve our clients and patients! 🐶🐱🐾💙

Arlo is the sweetest man.. and we are beyond proud of him and his owners for working on his weight loss. Between September 2022 and September 2023, Arlo has lost 13 pounds!!!!

We get that weight loss in humans and animals is HARD WORK. It won't happen overnight... but there are so many health benefits to maintaining your pet at a health weight. Especially with Arlo being a large breed dog this will help prevent mobility issues as he ages and improve his quality of life for years to come.

We celebrated by feeding him treats and getting some kisses in return! 🥰🐾🐶💙

We like to tackle ear infections with a tailored approach depending on what we see under the microscope AND inside your pets ear. As part of Honey's treatment plan, we did laser therapy to target her inflammation immediately and try to get her more comfortable as quickly as possible.

Cold laser is a form of that when used in combination with traditional medicine can supplement treatment and result in quicker healing! 🐶🐾💙
