Fiesta Mall Rescued Cats and Kittens

Three Fiesta kittens that were in a room with their mother and litter mates covered in flame retardant have become very sick. All three little black and white boys from that litter are struggling. It looked a lot like FIP but uniquely different in other ways. They could use your prayers. One of their symptoms of two boys is around age 8 months they started falling straight backwards. Their legs go stiff and they fall all the way back onto their backs and heads. Their legs are not weak like with FIP. Their legs are strong but something happens that makes them go backwards. They are all under sized for their age. The girls from this litter are doing amazing. They've been adopted and we've been checking in on them and they're doing fantastic. But all the boys are struggling.

Joy Fiesta is playful healthy and loves other animals. She is just not comfortable being touched by people. She needs either a kitty socializer to improve her tolerance to touch or someone who will adopt her knowing she may not be affectionate but shes fun! She plays for hours, she keeps the other cats happy and enjoys bird watching from windows. Also open to an indoor sanctuary. She must stay indoors, and is a great kitty, well mannered, entertaining, and beautiful. If you can help with any of these avenues please reach out. She was saved from the Christmas storage room of fiesta mall, and is the only one from that group who didn't make the bar to be adoptable due to aversion to touch. She is a happy kitten just super happy to be around people but her 3 ft space bubble respected and she LOVES other cats and dogs.

All but three kittens have been adopted. Joy is still a timid reclusive girl and two of the fiesta mall kittens developed FIP. They are being treated with very expensive research medication and responding well. We truly believe both Cindy Lou and Hottie Topic will beat this! Treatment is almost 3 months long and 3 more for observation. They are both about 1.5 months in. Please keep them in your prayers. FIP used to be fatal nearly always before this medication and we are hoping soon it will be available to FIP cats worldwide. In 4-5 months these two will be ready for adoption because they are going to be cured. And Joy, well she just needs a special family that is ok with her hanging out with you, laying next to you but running away if you place one finger on her.

Torri Torrid the secret torty is available for adoption in one week. We thought she was a sweet black kitty but she turned into a secret tortie with little brown spots popping up. She's very independent and playful and full of energy. She loves toys. She loves playing with dogs and cats and investigating things that move like shadows.
She is negative for felv and FIV
She is spayed and has had all core vaccinations and dewormers. She is microchipped. And she will be available for adoption under saving one life.

The last of the fiesta kittens will be ready for adoption in just a couple weeks. The very last I suspect will be little Hottie Topic who had his growth stunted by a close call with Panleukemia. He's about half the size he should be but he's got a big personality and a lot of love to give. He's the white and blackish one in front. In the middle is his sister Torri Torrid who turned out to be a torty! We thought she was just a sweet little black kitten but as she's grown little torty spots have popped up along with the tortitude! She wants love on her schedule not yours. She wants dinner now not two minutes from now. She's a riot and a joy to have around.

Max fiesta was such a traumatized kitten, from the oldest litter saved from the building, having more memories from that time than the others. We never did see an adult cat in that area. We did find deceased cats throughout the building and wondered and worried if these guys had been on their own with no food left in this building. There was evidence that some of the kittens had been eating broken glass. We worried that Max might not find his forever home because he's slow to trust new people. But a wonderful pair has followed his story and decided to meet him where he's at! That they don't need him to come out of the crate full of trust and affection on the first day. They understand him, and they are going to love him and wait for him to know that he is home. He is such a lucky boy. Not just because he was saved, and not just because he was adopted, but because he was adopted by people that truly understand where he has come from and are able and willing to be part of his healing process. This adoption has touched my heart more than any other, because there's not a lot of people like this. These types of homes, with that amount of patience and understanding and compassion, they are real gems. Have a very long and happy life Max Fiesta!

The picture is with one of his first foster mamas. I just really love this picture because he came to trust her and show his sweet side. After a few weeks he came to trust me and showed his sweetness again. He really is a sweet boy. It just takes time for him to know he is really truly safe.

Update: both adopted!

The day has finally come that these girls are completely ready for adoption and will be popping up on petfinder anytime now. They really really want to go to their forever home together. They have been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed felv/fiv tested (negative) etc. They LOVE dogs, cats and kids. They will be on Petfinder as available kittens under saving one life and their links will be posted in the comments here as soon as they are available.

My name is Coal Fiesta. I was found in Santa's workshop storage room of fiesta mall. I was very protective of my sisters and brother and would hiss at anybody who got too close. But now that I know everybody is safe, I am deeply loving and splendidly affectionate. I want to be everywhere you are, and I want to be picked up 30 times a day and kissed. I love wet food and am always waiting and watching for a can to open. Even though I have access to dry food all day, I go bonkers for the wet stuff. I have a little tiny white triangle spot on my chest and beautiful brite yellow green eyes. I am neutered. I am tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, I have been dewormed and microchipped and received all of my core vaccinations. I will be going to PetSmart very soon and my profile will be available online by next week. When we were first rescued everyone thought I was not going to be friendly enough because I was hissing and swatting. But I really just wanted to keep my sisters and brother safe, and now I am the most affectionate, confident and social of everyone. I am estimated to be between 4 and 5 months old. I like dogs, I like other cats, and I don't mind kids. But my favorite companion is an adult. I am available with Saving One Life ( a never kill rescue and sanctuary) and my profile will be on petfinder where you can put the search criteria to show "saving one life" kitties available.

My name is JoyJoy Fiesta or Joy for short. I was in Santas workshop storage room of fiesta mall hiding under pallets, surrounded by fake snow and human drug paraphernalia. I am traumatized and though I love to play, and adore other kitties, I am still afraid of people holding me. I want to trust someone and let them in, but I don't know if anyone is going to be patient enough to let me blossom on my own time? I don't bite or hiss, I just want to stay hidden if you're moving around and come out to play while you're distracted. I'll watch you from nearby, loving on my littermates, and yearning to have the courage to join them in your lap. I need time, will you let me join your family as I am and give me a reason to trust people?

I am spayed. Tested negative for FIV and FELV. I'm dewormed, microchipped, and an ear tip on my left ear for if I can't find a human family willing to give me the months I may take to feel safe and accept loving, then I may need to live in a sanctuary. Of the 20 kittens saved from the mall, I'm the most traumatized and afraid to let my guard down.

Come meet Jacey Penny! He is a very sweet boy who was found with many other kittens and a very tired mom who had taken them all under her wing. He is very playful and gentle. Meet Max Fiesta! This lovely shy boy was found in the Christmas storage room of Fiesta Mall with three other kittens. He's a little nervous with so many changes in his life but enjoys getting scratches on his hips and if you pet him long enough, he will start to purr. He's highly food motivated and very curious. He's also available for adoption in the next few days. With Saving One Life. He's been neutered and he is felv negative, has had three rounds of combo vaccines, his rabies shot and is microchipped as well as fully dewormed. He would do great with a quiet, calm home with adults. He likes other cats, especially his sister Cindy.

Laney Bryant is available for adoption! You can meet her at PetSmart on Power rd and Mckellips in Meda. She's not just a super mom, she's also a super social and affectionate lady. She wants to be someone's spoiled princess. She's been through so much and given so much of herself for her kittens and the ones she took on as her own. It's almost time for her to know the love and care she has given out so naturally.

Stay is adoptable under Saving One Life. She is spayed, tested negative for felv and fiv, rabies vaccine, dewormed, combo vaccinated, and microchipped.
