Dear Clients of Diamond Lake Animal Hospital,

It is with mixed emotions that we are writing to inform you that after nearly 40 years of service we have closed our location. We would like to extend our greatest appreciation to all of our clients for the years of loyalty, trust, and friendship that you and your furry family members have given us over this time period. Dr. Daniel Oakes established this practice with the hope of providing quality, consistent, and affordable care in order to improve the quality of life for all of the animals in our community. We hope that we were able to meet these high standards for you and your family during the time that we were open.

With Dr. Oakes’ original goals in mind, we searched for a new group of veterinarians to take over at our location that would be able to continue to provide the level of care that you have come to expect. We strongly believe we have found the right people to take on this responsibility. As of today, 2/22/2022, Allied Emergency Veterinary Service will be taking over at our location. We chose the Allied team as they will be able to provide 24/7 emergency services for our furry friends. We feel this is a much-needed service in our area for the moments when your pet is in need and every second of travel time matters. Allied Emergency Veterinary Service’s website is https://alliedervet.com/ and the telephone number for the location taking over our facility is 952-521-3030.

We still have all of our patient’s medical records in order to provide them either to you or directly to the veterinarian you choose to take your pets to for routine care going forward. Please email us [email protected] in order to have your records transferred.

Again, from the deepest depths of our hearts THANK YOU for allowing us to be apart of your and your furry family members lives for so long.

Sincerely,

The Oakes Family and the Diamond Lake Animal Hospital Staff

A client's pet, Stuart, has gone missing and we were asked to post this information to help track him down.

"Our male orange tabby cat ran out the door yesterday around dinner time. He usually stays around the yard and doesn't stay out longer than an hour or so, but it has now been about 20 hours. If you see him please let us know."

Updated hours: We will be reducing the number of hours that we are open to take phone calls during our temporary closure. We will have a staff member at the clinic Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00 pm.

We are still on course to complete the sale of the clinic at the end of this month. We will be reopening within a few weeks of the sale being finalized. We are eager to see you and your furry family members again!!

UPDATE: We are currently in the process of selling the clinic to a couple of local veterinarians. We are set to close this sale at the end of this month barring any hiccups along the way. Once the sale is completed we are hoping to be reopened within a few weeks of the closing. We will send out notifications when we have a definitive date so that you may begin to schedule appointments again.

As a reminder, Jeff will still be at the clinic to answer questions and provide records if your pet needs to be seen prior to our reopening. However, we are NOT allowed to sell medications, prescription diet foods, or provide any services (ex nail trims, express a**l glands, etc) until the sale is complete and a veterinarian is working for us.

02/12/2021

We want to remind everyone that today, 2/12, is Dr. Petersen's last day with Diamond Lake Animal Hospital and we will be temporarily closing after today due to this. We will have a staff member here during our normal business hours to answer questions, help find another veterinary clinic in case your furry family member(s) needs to be seen during our temporary closure, and provide medical records.

We are in the beginning stages of working with a couple veterinarians who are interested in the practice. We hope to be open again as soon as possible, but cannot provide an accurate timeline at this point. We will provide updates as soon as we can and once we have a definitive reopening date we will be sending out notifications to everyone. Again, we would like to thank everyone for your understanding and patience during this time of transition!!

We would like to update everyone that we will have to find a new owner for the clinic in order to stay in accordance with Minnesota state laws surrounding owning/operating a veterinary clinic. We are working diligently to find this person(s), but at this time we will be temporarily closing following Dr. Petersen's departure on Feb 12th. If you need your pets records in case they need to be seen during our closure please email or call us and we will provide those records. [email protected] or (612) 866 - 7103. Thank you for your patience during this time of transition!!
