(Minot, ND) Two structure fires kept Firefighters on their toes this morning.

The first fire was reported this morning, Thursday, May 16, at 4:36 am. Firefighters from all five fire stations responded to the fire at 2101 3rd St NW Lot #212 and got to work on extinguishing the fire. The mobile home was unoccupied.

Then, at approximately 5:48 a.m.,
a separate structure fire was reported at 527 7th St. NE. The Station 4 crew quickly made its way to the newly reported fire location. Upon arrival, crew members encountered heavy smoke coming from the front door/entry way, and immediately shifted efforts to extinguishing the fire. This structure was also unoccupied.

(Minot, ND) When your Monday morning is punctuated by the sound of the Outdoor Warning System, you know spring is finally here.

The City of Minot will begin it's twice-monthly testing of the Outdoor Warning System this Monday at 9:30am. During the tests, residents will hear a ten-second High/Low siren followed by a voice message over the public address system. The tones and message will be repeated three times. The Cable TV interrupt system will also be tested as the outdoor warning system audible test is being sounded.

All tests will run on the second and last Monday of every month through October with one exception: The test that would fall on Memorial Day will instead take place on Tuesday, May 28th, at 9:30 am
