The local Pheasants Forever Chapter 872 held it’s wildlife seed distribution event this morning, April 1. Good turnout considering the weather. Contact Mike Kuchera, Habitat Chair, 605-996-1120 for information about second opportunity to get your wildlife food plot seed if you couldn’t get there due to the bad weather yesterday and overnight. Lots of wildlife food plots going in this planting season thanks to area sportsmen and sportswomen our PF team members.

Our local Pheasants Forever - Pheasant Country Chapter #872 - held its 38th Annual Landowner Appreciation Banquet yesterday afternoon at The Moose. Over a hundred were in attendance. Dave Allen, President, introduced Mike Kuchera, Chapter Habitat Chairman who handed out over $10,000 in checks to landowners who participated in the current tree program. A new enhanced tree program was introduced. Local PF Farm Bill Biologists Sydney Settles, of the Mitchell office and Justin Enfield from Woonsocket, were there to visit with landowners about available programs for wildlife habitat. The Quick Draw people were there to add a little fun and competition. The Moose served a wonderful roast beef, chicken dinner with cake and ice cream for dessert. We are digging out. Thanks to some very capable heavy equipment operators and good friends

Mitchell received 17.2 inches of snow on Tuesday, Jan. 3 — the second-most all-time in a single day of snow on record for the city.

I retired my beautiful dog Lexie after 8 seasons and retrieving hundreds or even thousands of pheasants. Our friend Tyler is being a great adoptive dog parent and Lexie loves him and her new home. Makes me happy for her. I miss her but she was a great part of my life. Thanks to Tyler who I have known since he was a little boy

Here are the photos from the Pheasants Forever Chapter #872 Seed Distribution Day. Thanks to all of the volunteers and to the Landowners who came out to get seed to plant for their wildlife food plots. Also a big thank you to the seed corn companies and to Aurora Co-op for letting us hold the event at their facility. Now pray for rain.
