Cunera v.d. Olde Mette Moate Kroon AA❤️

This sweet girl has been with us since day 1! My parents went to the Netherlands for the first time almost 15 years ago looking for a stallion, but came home with Cunera. She’s the princess of Macias Corral Friesians and never fails to put a smile on my face. She was one of the four mares spared from our tragic barn fire 5 years ago, and I think God saved her for a reason. Cunera had a rough time last year. Cunera was diagnosed with mega esophagus years ago and it got worse after she had her last baby. She was choking several times a week and it really took a toll on her body. She was all skin and bones and her firey personality disappeared. There was talk of us having to possibly euthanize her, but we knew we could save her. After much trial and error, we got her on a rigorous feeding schedule which helped tremendously. After just a few months, she was back to being her happy self and searching our pockets for cookies!

As I leave for college in just a couple short months, I’m staring to realize how much I’m really going to miss her. Cunera has been my sidekick since I was a baby and it breaks my heart to move 6 hours away from her. I feel better knowing that she will be so well taken care of by April Maly!
