Hi white Pied female from 2021 that has the calico look to it. I have had two pieds make this transition starting between 18-24 months. It is very interesting to say the least and it adds another element to all these pied projects.

This 2024 season wasn't a huge season for me as far as number of clutches go, but it did end up being my most exciting seasons in years! In fact, It could be my favorite season ever. If you follow my page you would probably suspect I am talking about the Caramel Pieds, Granite Pieds, or the Caramel Pied Green that I made this season. Those are great, and I'm stoked to have made them as well, but the highlight of this season by far for me is something I haven't even shared yet. Which is.... I have finally reproduced an Ultramel Burmese Python!
I have been obsessed with the Ultramel for years. The first one was reproduced in 2010 by Tom Reagan and she died in 2015 in a freak tornado along with her only hypo son. So this line has been extinct for the last 9 years! Almost nothing has been available from the Ultramel line as far as hets go either. I was able to finally reproduce this line from a Hypo male 50% het Ultramel that I got in 2013, and the information was mixed to say the least that the hets I got were really 50% het Ultramel. So, to finally bring the Ultramel back to existence after all this time with "iffy" possible hets bred back to offspring from those same possible hets is amazing.
While beating the odds definitely makes this moment that much sweeter, the much more exciting part is that the Ultramel isn't "just another Caramel line". At least I don't think so anyway. There is a lot to still be determined as there has only been one other one reproduced in the last 20 years. The one produced in 2010 ended up have a darker reddish/brown pattern as she became an adult versus the lighter more typical Caramel color that the other lines have. So this could lead to some other very interesting morph combinations in the future if this variation holds true within Ultramel line as a whole. When I think of what an Ultramel Pied, or Ultramel Labyrinth, Ultramel Champagne could look like I really get excited! The potential for almost anything combined with Ultramel is HUGE!
Anyway. I think I have rambled on enough. I will be posting updates as things progress with my little Ultramel. For now, here are some pics of Tom Reagan's Ultramel including a baby photo of his from 2010. I attached a few pictures of my new 2024 baby Ultramel as well in different lighting. Please click on the photos and read the captions for specific details.

This girl is a high white Pied I hatched out in 2021. She about 8 months ago she started losing some of the pigment in her mom white areas. She seems to get a little bit better ever shed. She is definitely one of my favorites!
