Yesterday was last day of ESI & ENS, all puppies have opened their eyes and all are beginning to walk with a little less wobble. They had their snuggle time with the kids. Pictured below are 🧡 Woody & 💙Rex

Puppies this small cannot see or hear. So why not broaden their world with smell and expose them to new things. ENS & ESI with Buzz and Jessie ( my daughters favorite time)

We start ENS ( Early Neurological Stimulation) and ESI (Early Scent Introduction) Exercises with our puppies from day 3-16.

ENS consist of 5 exercises that are preformed for 3-5 seconds
1. Tactile stimulation(between toes with qtip)
2. Head held erect
3. Head pointed down
4. Supine position
5. Thermal stimulation
This helps them improve cardiovascularperformance(heart rate) with stronger heart beats, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress and greater resistance to disease.

ESI is the exposure of the puppy to a different pungent scent each day. We hold them close to ourselves and let them smell the item and chart their reaction.
1.Positive: puppy actively engaged with the scent without them touching the item.
2. Neutral: no reaction noted
3. Negative: puppy moves away from the scent.
This helps nose awareness and confidence! Great for hunting, tracking, diabetic, service dogs to name a few.
