When it’s still chilly but you’re ready for summer ☀️ In our (totally fictional) rubric, "Super-imposed," we place our favorite breed in our favorite destinations to answer FAQs. 👋, @iggyjoey! —⠀⠀ “Why do IGs wear those funny onesies?” IGs maintain a lean body weight without excess fat, and that’s what keeps dogs warm. They have close-hair coats (not “double coated”), so it won’t retain heat the way a husky’s might. Fleece outfits trap body heat to keep IGs cozy. Skipped spring, right into summer ✨ In our (totally fictional) rubric, "Super-imposed," we place our favorite breed in our favorite destinations to answer FAQs. Here, @oscartheiggy finds some shade at #rockawaybeach —⠀ “Do Italian Greyhounds overheat easily?” Yes! IGs run hot anyway, about 101.5°, so summer can be downright dangerous. Not only are high temps unbearable, but hot ground can hurt their paws. Mornings and evenings are the best times for walks.
