Happy 🐘🌎🐘 Elephants play an important role in the Earth's ecosystems -- celebrate by getting involved to protect these majestic creatures

Here’s how you can help!

1. Contact your state representatives to advocate for the circus bill (H.3245) to ban the use of elephants in circuses and traveling shows in Massachusetts

2. Contact your state senator to voice your support for the ivory bill (S.519) to end ivory trafficking in Massachusetts

3. Contact Congress and voice your support for the TEAPSPA Act which would federally prohibit the use of wild animals in circuses and traveling shows

4. Support our work to end illegal poaching and wildlife trafficking: https://massforelephants.org/donate-now/

UPDATE: We're moving this demo to the Hadley Walmart, in the entrance area! We got their approval. Signs and literature will be provided, but feel free to bring your own sign. Please join us if you can THIS SUNDAY, 12:30-2, in honor of United Poultry Concerns' International Respect for Chickens Day (a bit late)! Walmart sells many plant-based chicken items. Let's open people's eyes to the horrific truth about chicken cruelty in farms, especially factory farms, and guide them in the right direction. Hope to see you there! 🐔🐣❤

Western Mass. Animal Rights Advocates’ vision, mission, and campaigns

Welcome to WMARA!

WMARA’s Vision is to end the suffering of all animals through activism, education, legislation, networking, and collaboration.

WMARA’s mission is to unite animals rights advocates in Western Mass. for the purposes of helping both the animals and ourselves. Members foster, encourage, plan, and take peaceful actions in both education & legislation. Extensive community awareness is provided through presentations, demonstrations, workshops, literature and hands-on opportunities. Animal-friendly legislations is also promoted with ongoing assistance of MSPCA, MA HSUS, and other animal rights groups’ representatives. WMARA also provides ongoing support, unity, and help to all members.

A puppy mill store called The Puppy Place is now in Springfield, so WMARA has submitted an ordinance to ban the retail sale of dogs & cats in Springfield (would not affect breeders). The hearing will not be until after the November 2019 elections. Please urge the Springfield City Council to support it!
