This is Luna 🌜 she’s an Australian Terrier. When her mom got her from the breeder, she was told that Luna would never be an off-leash dog because this breed typically only obeys training in an enclosed area. In general, terriers should not be trusted off-leash because the risk is too great that they will take off after anything that runs, oblivious to your frantic shouts. Luna isn’t your typical terrier 😉 She is incredibly obedient off-leash & a pleasure to have around! Especially on the hiking trails, you never have to call her twice because this good girl is always right at your feet 💓 We love you Lu Lu!!

This winter has been a cold one and we powered through it! Big shout out to Gus🧡(pictured). When he began hiking with us, his speed & mobility were very limited due to his arthritis. Many times it was hard for him to keep up with the others. Despite the frigid temperatures, the daily movement kept the heat in his bones, joints, & muscles! We’re so proud of the progress he’s made!! Now please let that be the last snowfall of the season 🙏🏼 Who else is looking forward to warmer days?? ☀️🌷🥰

Xena🧡 Such a beautiful girl! When we first started working with Xena, she didn’t have reliable recall. “Reliable recall” refers to the act of calling your dog to come and always expecting them to respond. The idea is to train each dog to come over every time his/her named is called so that a trusting dynamic is formed and the dog can have more freedom during hikes, while remaining obedient. After a short while, we were able to improve her recall with simple exercises. Now she hikes off-leash and stays close to the pack. She’s a very good girl and we are so proud of her progress✨
