We are a small kennel that has been involved with raising, breeding, and training Labrador Retrievers since 2002. Welcome to Cranberry Creek Labs !! We are involved in both HRC and AKC Hunt Tests, and Don is currently serving on the Board of Director's for the Ohio Hunting Retriever Club. The Ohio Hunting Retriever Club is an HRC club. Our Kennel is located at our home. We currently own four acres
, and we are in the process of building a small training pond and a new kennel facility. Jennifer's family owns an additional 20 acres adjacent to our home to use for additional training grounds, and Don's relatives farm approximately 2,000 acres which we are also able to use for training and hunting. Our decision to get involved with Labrador Retrievers was an easy one. The Labrador Retriever is a very versatile dog, and they make good hunting companions, are great with kids and are pleasant to have in or around the house. Our number one goal is to have Labs that are great pets for our kids, and that are able to excel in hunting and competitions. All of our retrievers have been run in Hunt Tests by our kids, which helps demonstrate some of the traits we are looking for in our breeding program. We want dogs that are tractable, biddable, and that have a high desire to retrieve birds, while also being comfortable stretched out on the floor with the family in the evening. From time to time we offer puppies which are bred from some of the finest retrievers in the U.S. Our pedigrees include National Field Champions, Field Champions, Master Hunters, and Hunting Retriever Champions. All of our retrievers are run in Hunt Tests and are hunted extensively. Our dogs have hunted in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, North Dakota, and Canada. They are great family dogs, but they are also working dogs. Our retrievers have been genetically tested to help ensure both they and their puppies are healthy dogs, meaning they are tested for OFA, EIC, CNM, and CERF clearances.
