It's Barn Install Day!!! They got here right at 7am! Hubby is putting the finishing touches on the pad and then they'll get started!! 😍😍😍😍😍

We're using limestone screenings for the base of the barn and shop. When wet down and compacted, they create a very firm ground that provides drainage but doesn't get muddy 🙌

For some reason they all got dropped over by the shop site 🤔 So many a trip was made to move some over so we could start laying them down!

The farm is finally getting an official barn!! 😍

We broke ground yesterday and received the approved building permit today! Now we can get the screenings down and get the pad ready for the barn install! 😍

A lot of the barn is going to be DIY and I plan to share every step along the way, so stay tuned!

Pumpkin had 8 beautiful babies!!! 😍😍 4 girls and 4 boys, all Perfect! 😍

Pie is just the best Daddy! He laid there quietly with Pumpkin while she had them and then just laid there "talking" to them as they came over to him. It was the sweetest thing 🥹🥹

It has been awhile since I've posted an update on Hope!

She is doing GREAT! She looks awesome and is slowly coming around to "enjoying" my company. She will touch my hand with her nose when I stick it out to her and I've been doing Liberty work with her so she will follow me around the round pen now. She is VERY slowly learning that human company is not a bad thing. But I have also not been consistent with working with her so I need to get better about that

I'm not sure if she was pregnant and had an early miscarriage, or if that belly was all worms/stretched out from previous pregnancies, but she is most definitely not pregnant now. She is looking mighty fit and trim! 😍

The newest mama, Alice, had her babies today!! 2 gorgeous blue eyed bucklings, and the 1 is the most handsome buckling I've ever seen with spots, blue eyes, and wattles! 😍

I'm in love. And NOW we are officially done having babies around here! 🤣

🐐 We're getting super close! It always amazes me with how lovey they get right before delivering the kids. This is a doe I got last September at an auction, she is not very friendly and definitely doesn't ever come up to be pet. Yet here she is, seeking comfort and security 💜

Every chick was hatched from a dark brown egg (maran), a green egg, or a large brown egg. They will all be nice sized chickens and great layers of fun eggs! Some with fun little tophats as well!

They range from just hatched to 1 week old, about 15 available.

Addy is enjoying some supervised cone free time today! She's been doing great since her surgery and thinks she should already be outside running free with everyone else 🤣🤦‍♀️

She has the big incision on her hip, a 2" incision on her other side, and a 2" incision on her front leg. The vet said the big lump looked questionable so we decided to send it off to pathology. If it comes back cancerous we'll be going back into the hip spot to get better margins as they had a hard time getting it all and still having enough skin to close.
