Daphne Gretton and All The Talk were 🥈 in the open national derby at Woodside with scores of 92 and 87 and the highest scoring jr/am rider, so happy for this duo 🙌

Another great week for the jumpers at Giant Steps! Reflection & Melissa were champ in the .85 amateurs winning every class, Adivina & Anna were champ in the 1.10 juniors and Worthwhile & Charleigh were champ in the .95s juniors! the hunter and eq crew also had a great week with good ribbons, so grateful for all the amazing shows at Sonoma this week and we'll be back next year!

The JPS jumpers ruled at the Summer Classic, with Thea and Folivia taking home champion in the .95s and Worthwile and Charleigh right behind in reserve. Cassifino X and Eden made their return to the show ring with 🥈 in the 2'9 derby and the rest of the team had great rounds from the .80s, to the AAs to the 1.10s and we can't wait for Giant Steps this week!

Cityscape and Charlotte Campopiano also had a great JHF 2024, laying down nice rounds and a great undersaddle to end up 10th out of a big group in the Large 3'3 16-17. So happy with this teams progress and all the hard work they have put in together 🙌

Cataro 9 and Phinn McKeon came home from JHF with Grand Reserve Champion in the 3'3 and reserve in the Large 3'3 16-17 with great rounds and undersaddle scores into the 90s. Couldn't have asked for a better first JHF for these two 🎉

Classic day at JHF West '24 was a success with All The Talk and Daphne taking home 🥈 in the 3'3 small youngers. Cataro 9 and Phinn also taking home 🥉 in the 3'3 large olders and Cityscape and Charlotte also having a solid round in the 3'3 large olders. Thank you as always to everyone putting on this wonderful event and all the people supporting us and our riders.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at JPS! As we look back on an amazing 2023 show season this Thanksgiving, the JPS team would like to express our gratitude to our wonderful barn family! From clients, owners, vets, farriers, sponsors, and friends, every single person has had a big impact on our program. We are grateful for the support and love, but most importantly, we are so grateful for the amazing horses that give us their heart and soul every day and bring us endless joy. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!

This weekend JPS was lucky enough to have judge and clinician Ann Ruffner out to the barn for a judging clinic.

On Day 1, we learned about judging hunters & equitation; scoring, jumping form, bits, equitation tests, presentation , and more.

On Day 2, we got to apply what we learned by having each student jump one hunter course and one equitation round. Following that, Ann scored and shared her commentary and observations from the rounds.

Thank you again, Ann, for a great weekend of learning.

Horses are so unbelievably incredible, and we are lucky to have them in our lives. Please remember they aren’t machines. When we struggle or have an off day, they do too. They work so hard for us and to communicate to us through movement, connection, and actions…. so don’t forget to show them extra appreciation for all they do.

Sneak them that extra carrot, handwalk after a long day of showing, or even go for a trail ride instead of hacking, keeping them out of the arena.

It’s the little things that show them how grateful we are. That’s what this sport is really about 🩷🩷

Huge congratulations to all of our riders on an amazing week !!
Our team of riders and horses produced numerous championships and individual successes. Two big highlights of Sunday include .eq and Charming Boy 58 winning the Nancy Thomas Child/Adult Hunter Derby, and .eq and new mount Cataro 9 winning the Plaid Horse Carousel Child/Adult Hunter Derby at their first show together!! Great job everyone!

We had lots of champions last week at Woodside! .eq Charming Boy 58 stole the show with not only a Champion in the 3’3 performance and the children’s hunters, but also taking the win in the 5,000 hunter derby. .dundas Caschi X was also on fire taking reserve champion in the 3’3 greens with and in the AA hunters with Amy Brubaker in the irons. Cassifino X and moved up to the 3’3 juniors and ended up with a 3rd in the classic! Getting back in the show ring after while, Cobalt and had great success in the pre adult hunters and eq. The young horses were also perfect as usual, with Queen Harriett X Champion in the 3’3 greens, and Clooney X champion in the 3’ greens. Over in jumper land, Chucks X and were great in the .80’s taking home champion! Great riding everyone!!

All the derby horses jumped amazing tonight!! Young superstar Misty June X took second place in her first National derby with @joey_pedroni with scores of 87.5 and 94 and we are so proud of her!! It was Caschi X’s and Charming Boy 58’s first derbies too and they took 5th and 9th, respectively. Speedway Stout X and @milan.hines took 10th as the only junior rider in the handy. All the Talk and Harriett X also had stellar rounds and were just out of the ribbons. Excited for the weekend!! #jps #rideon
