Building Your Home Apothecary is now accepting applications for 2023! Deadline: Tuesday, January 31📆 Apply here: https://www.bartramsgarden.org/home-apothecary/

Led by instructors Maebh Aguilar, Dominique Matti, and Mercelyne Latortue, this 8-month introductory course is taught through the lens of herbalism as a tool for cultivating intimate, liberating, and communal relationships with the land and each other.

Some details about the course:

💐Topics will include: growing & using herbs, making medicine, learning about the body's systems, herbalism in context, and community building. We'll explore these topics through 2 monthly class sessions, apothecary work, and homework time,

💐Exact dates TBA, but the course will run from March-October 2023. The monthly workload amounts to 15-20 hours, and includes 2 class sessions per month (one on Sunday and one Wednesday). Because this class is a community project, there is a high expectation for attendance.

💐The total cost for the course is $850. Payment plans are available to all. Additionally, scholarships of 25 or 50% are available to any person of color with financial need. We do this to address the whitewashing of herbalism, the stolen healing practices from people of color by white folks, and systemic inequalities that affect income.

💐Childcare is available!

💐This course involves moving across the Garden. Please let us know if you have physical limitations or anticipate needing support.
