PET OF THE WEEK!
Casper is a deaf, 1 year old, 40 lbs. male Lab - Aussie mix. He was surrendered to the shelter as unwanted in May 2024. He is a sweet, wiggly, happy-go-lucky little guy that wants to please his humans. Casper can be playful and goofy with a small crowd of dogs, but he is also calm and gentle. He is still learning and would do good with someone who has experience with a hearing impaired dog. Casper does not enjoy crate time but he does walk good on a leash. He stands out because sometimes all the dogs will be going wild and he's just snoozing. He is heartworm negative, neutered and current on his rabies vaccine. Twix, the beauty queen of all the puppies has gotten lots of interest, but still has not connected with her forever family.

She is 7 months old, and on the smaller side, and a willing cuddle bunny. Twix loves dogs, cats, and gentle children. She will nap in a crate, and follow you around without being underfoot.

She is up for discussion at 412-660-8346.

Fireworks are coming. Keep your dogs leashed when they are out with you. If they bolt, they may be forever lost, stolen, tortured, killed by a passing vehicle, sent to a shelter, or a rescue that you may not be aware of.

Indoors, keep the TV on to provide familiar white noise against the fireworks. Reassure your dogs without making a big fuss. The more normal you treat the sounds of the fireworks, the easier it will be for them to deal with things that scare them.

Those of you with electronic fences, keep your dogs leashed. If frightened, your dog can go straight through the invisible fence.
