Meet Scruffles 💚

Scruffles was a stray in South Minneapolis, but thanks to the kindness of Stan and Michele - longtime Pause 4 Paws fosters and supporters - he was safely rescued. When they rescued him, he had injuries and wasn’t able to put weight on his back leg. Fortunately, X-rays confirmed nothing was broken, and in just a few days, Scruffles has started to recover!

- About 2 years old, incredibly sweet, and loves attention!
- Enjoys sitting in laps and getting lots of love!
- Loves treats (especially Churros!) and being around people (see last photo lol!)
- Unknown how he does with cats and dogs at this time.

You may recognize this handsome face - this is Huey! 💜

We are looking for a foster home for Huey, a sweet and affectionate cat who just wants to be by your side. If you have been wanting a furry shadow, Huey is your guy!

Huey is a chill, smart, and slightly vocal cat who loves following his person around and cuddling up next to or on them. He thrives on attention and would do best in a home where he can feel loved and included.

Pause 4 Paws provides all food, supplies, and veterinary care—we just need a warm lap and a loving heart to give Huey the care he deserves.

Success story 🤍🐈

Mango was found outdoors at just six weeks of age. She was bottle-fed by a dedicated volunteer while we worked tirelessly to find a rescue that could take her and four other tiny kittens. Unfortunately, no rescues had room, but Jen O. and her family stepped up and offered to foster Mango along with the four other kittens. (So amazing!!! See the last photo for baby Mango!)

Fast forward, and Mango—now Bowie—was adopted by Audrey and Aaron, who already had a beautiful white kitten named Millie. The two kitties have since become a bonded pair, and here’s an update from Audrey and Aaron, shared about eight months after adopting Bowie:

“Bowie is doing very well, and we love her like a daughter! We recently bought and moved into a new house, and she is loving the extra space for her and Millie to run and play in. I’ve also attached two pictures of her favorite place in the new house, which is right next to the heating duct in the bathroom. She has become quite the lap cat, too, and follows us everywhere we go. Her favorite things nowadays include mealtime, her Feline Flyer toy, and neck scratches. It is so fun seeing her orange tabby stripes start to appear!” (& cue the happy tears!!)

Meet Naluwas 🐾

Naluwas was rescued by a dedicated independent rescuer, and P4P is helping to find him a loving forever home. Our mission is to connect animals like Naluwas with the care and families they deserve! 💜

Naluwas is a handsome 2-4-year-old Pointer mix weighing 58 lbs. This obedient and playful pup is full of love and energy! He absolutely loves playing fetch and soaking up all the tummy rubs he can get. Naluwas is kennel-trained, and he walks well on a leash. Since he adores attention, he would love to be the only pet in the home where he can be the star of the show. ✨

Meet Huey 🐾
Age: 4-5 years old
Personality: Affectionate and enjoys attention. Huey may do best in a home with no other pets, although he has lived successfully with two Labrador Retrievers for two years in his previous home and briefly with a Labradoodle. However, he did not do well with Lydia and Braden’s dogs.
Habits: Huey enjoys sleeping in bed and being near his person or people when they are home. He is a lap cat.
Medical: Currently on medication for Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD), which he takes easily when mixed with his food.

Meet Pantera 🐾
Age: Approximately 1.5 years old
Personality: Pantera is a lap cat and loves attention. He can be vocal, particularly when he wants to be held or petted. He enjoys playing and is very affectionate.
Background: He previously lived with three cats and two dogs.

Meet Chance 🐾
Age: Approximately 5-6 years old
Personality: Chance loves attention, he is a chill lap cat.
Medical: Due to stomatitis (inflammation of the gums), he has had his teeth removed, which occasionally causes his tongue to stick out.
Compatibility: He would do best in a home with no other animals, as he has lived in a single-pet home with Chris for over two years. Prior to that, he lived with several dogs and cats.

Success story 🤍🐈

How cute are these two?!? Pippin & Percy were abandoned, and we were unable to find a rescue that had room to take them into their care. Thankfully, an amazing foster, Michelle, offered to take them in. They came into our care in January 2024, and were adopted at the end of June 2024!

Pippin & Percy’s owners, Brittney and Jared, shared this sweet message: “They are so much fun to have around. They love cuddles and playing. Never a dull moment with these little trouble makers and I would not change a single thing.”

Our hearts are full knowing these two are in their forever home! 🐾🏠

We want to express our deepest gratitude to Lynn Gates and Warmth 4 Ferals for rescuing Athena, a beautiful cat who endured an unthinkable act of cruelty. About two weeks prior to her rescue, Athena was dropped off by a male from a vehicle that slowed down just enough to discard her from the car window before speeding off.

For days, she was left to fend for herself outdoors. A neighbor threw a towel down for her, someone set out water, and at the urging of a concerned sister who doesn’t live in the area, a box was placed outside for her. It was in this makeshift shelter that Athena was finally found, scared but alive, when Shannon arrived to rescue her. We are grateful to Lynn’s friend, Deanna for fostering Athena in the short term.

Since Athena’s rescue, she has been under Lynn Gates and Warmth 4 Ferals’ care. This has included much-needed medical attention, which was largely funded by donations from other independent rescuers. When Lynn faced challenges securing a same-day vet appointment for Athena, Pause 4 Paws stepped in to help arrange immediate veterinary care. Lynn’s dedication has been unwavering, even as she continues her efforts in Fergus Falls, where she is currently working on trapping a colony.

Athena’s future is bright, but she needs your help! A foster home is needed for Athena. Pause 4 Paws is calling on our compassionate supporters to help Athena on her journey to healing and trust.

A day in the life - helping anywhere we can!

This beautiful cat was dropped out of a car window while the vehicle was in motion. Neighbors saw this sweet animal that needed help, & threw out a blanket & water.

An independent rescuer heard about the situation & brought the cat into her home. She was unable to find a rescue to assist her - P4P is stepping in to help!!!

An appointment at the vet is taking place at 4:30pm today - please send all of the positive vibes and good energy this kitty’s way! ✨🐈🐾
