The shelter is still in desperate need of newspapers!!! Any amount helps us keep the animals clean and comfortable 🐶💜

The shelter is COMPLETELY OUT of newspaper, we have been using puppy pads which we are also OUT of. Please please if you have any newspaper/puppy pads bring them to the shelter. Without papers or pads, keeping our animals clean and comfortable becomes very difficult.

STRAY found on ruff and tuff middlecreek. If this is your dog you must bring proof and up to date Rabies certificate by a licensed veterinarian. If you can show proof your dog but hasn’t had a rabies vaccine by licebsed vet. You will pay for one and be gave a receipt to take to vet within 10 days. Stray hold ending September 22.

Do we have someone willing to help with transporting a dog to Wayne West Virginia. The dog will be in town tomorrow around 4pm and will need its freedom ride to a vet clinic in Wayne. This is a medium size dog est. 40-60lbs. If you can help comment or message us and we will get back to you asap!

If you want to show support for the dogs that were seized from the Endicott property at Buffalo by state police, judge Williams and ACO Ezra. They were living in deplorable conditions with no food, water or proper housing. They also needed medical care for fly bites and flea infestation. The court case is tomorrow at 11:00 am.

This dog strayed in on a kind citizen who took care of it until we had space. If you think this could be your dog please provide the following information.
•proof of ownership
•utd rabies
•know the gender.

This dog will be on a 5 day stray hold, starting today August 20th ending Saturday August 24th. If not claimed it will be available for adoption or 501c3 rescue.

Gage, the beloved mascot of the Prestonsburg Fire Department, recently celebrated his first "Gotcha Day," marking a year since he became part of the team. Hiya I’m Ellington! I’m new to the shelter today is my first day here, boy do I love it tho! So many friends and nice people. I was abandoned at someone’s house around a week ago and they kept me safe until the shelter had an opening.

I seem to be mostly house broke with a few accidents here and there. I don’t mind other animals and I love my people!! I say outside with my shelter mommies for 30 minutes just taking in all the love. Im roughly a year old and weigh 30-40lbs. Im believed to be a Basset X Dachshund!

Im on a 5 day stray hold starting today and ending Sunday 8/18. However dont let that stop you from putting an application in if you’re interested in adopting me!

We just had a male doodle brought in after being hit by a car. Looks to be on the younger side, is neutered. Wearing a collar and dragging a leash.
Has been to the vet recently as his front right leg has been shaved.

Hi yall I’m new here, my name is Bonnie!
I’m around 7 months old and believed to be a catahoula mix. I’m very sweet and playful. I don’t know a stranger whether that be animal or human everyone is my friend!

I do great on a leash and obviously know how to work a camera. I’m on a 5 day stray hold at the Floyd county shelter and will be available for adoption 8/18/24 but don’t let that stop you from putting an application in on me today! I can’t wait to be adopted so I can be a model for my new furever family!

We will be at Cornbread and Chaos in downtown Prestonsburg this evening between 7-9:00 pm. We will have for sale tshirts Halloween pet bandannas and other pet related items. Come out and enjoy food, vendors and music.
