Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease (CIRDC) is rearing its ugly head in Oregon. So far everyone here is healthy! If your pet is not feeling well (coughing, sneezing, nasal and/or eye discharge, elevated body temperature or not eating as usual) please don't bring them to Camp. It only takes one dog with a respiratory infection to get everyone sick! As this virus/bacterium is passed through "respiratory droplets" avoid other dogs on walks and don't take your dog to the groomer right before boarding. Think twice about taking your dog to Portland or Eugene where this is coming from. I would even say it's best not to take your healthy dog to the dog park where they share water. So far there is no vaccination. It is however recommended to keep your dog current on Bordetella, Parainfluenza (one of the P's in DHLPP) and Canine Influenza. I will do my best to post an article from Oregon Veterinary Medical Association in the near future. Let's keep them healthy!
