Another good read about the downfalls of early spay/neuter.

Examine the effects of spaying and neutering with a focus on canine health and responsible breeding in our blog Belief in Place of Knowledge.

Here’s a good article about neutering, from our reproductive veterinary clinic.

When I have clients ask me when they should neuter their dog, I turn the question on them and ask them why they want to neuter him at all.

SY Farm Dogs and BoHo Boerboels are proud to announce a litter from Coomore Frodo (Coomore Top Gun x Linjo Mitha) and BoHo Eba (BoHo Apollo x Coomore Hiba)!

These pups are 75% original Coomore and 25% Delatro. Both dogs are compact and muscular. Bred for athleticism, health, and temperament.

We breed true to the original farm type Boerboel. No gigantic, slobbering behemoths here. Just lean, athletic, work capable dogs. If you’re after a 200lb couch potato, look elsewhere. But if you want a functional and loyal family member, one of these pups might be for you!

For more information contact Shawn, at SY Farm Dogs, or Brian Rhee, of BoHo Boerboels.

Note: Contrary to the rumors that we’ve heard (and probably to the chagrin of some folks) Coomore Frodo is still alive, kicking, and producing (he’s still a randy boy)!

Yet another reason to not spay/neuter too young!

"The results suggested that … g***d retention during the first 24 months of life—are strongly associated with lifelong avoidance of bilateral CCL rupture…Risk for CCL rupture was not influenced when g***d removal took place after the 24-month developmental period."

CCL injuries are one of the most common causes of pain and arthritis in dogs. Today at 12pm ET we're discussing how to prevent injury and available CCL treatment options.
