Bringing Buck back to the Basics! Try saying that 5 times fast π€ͺ
Buck comes from a questionable facility that claimed he was fully trained. We quickly found out he needed to start from scratch. We're starting with clicker training so his owner can learn more about timing and so Buck can understand when he's done something worth payment πͺ
It's been quite a road to recovery but it's coming to an end soon! π
Please stay tuned to see our new website, availability, and to see how some of our teams have been doing while we've been out. π
During my time out, the MK9 teams played a healthy game of dog training bingo π 1st place won a $100 @tactipup Giftcard and 2nd place won a $50 @muttcloth Giftcard π
Congrats to the winners!! π₯³
Hard, Consistent Work gets your where you want π€ and they're not done yet!
Below is the results of 3 months of training, 1 session a week, weekly homework, and countless hours of practice.
My job as a dog trainer is to provide the tools, knowledge, and confidence my clients need to achieve their goals. These two teams have ran with every piece of advice I've given them and their consistency is admirable. This is all THEIR win π

What does behavior modification look like?
This is what it looked like for Mobi- restructure of the home, teaching alternative behaviors to the outbursts, and slowly introducing dogs at a pace where he can still function.
We'll be closing the distance more and more until we can reach our goal of having him relaxing next to other dogs in a controlled manner.
Baby Aldo is growing up so fast and learning almost faster π€― He started the beginning of his first task "Touch", his handler has had alot of fun with this command if you can't tell by Aldo's enthusiasm. π
Team Mobi is completely destroying their homework! Using Heel, Place with an Implied Stay, and Leave-it.. π₯Ί so proud! Watch how Mobi keep his eyes on his owner while she gives him clear and clean commands, this is the type of relationship I love seeing in our teams!
β€π Merry Christmas to all my clients, friends & family β€π I hope you're surrounded by good food, good people, and memorable times π

Socializing your dogs to Firefighters
Always prepare your dog for those emergency situations, the last thing you need is your dog to run away from the heros. Thank you Buda Fire Station #2 for being so welcoming and letting MK9 dogs prepare for the future π
Muzzles are amazing safety tools! They often get a bad reputation because people often picture a dog trying to desperately to get it off. Chances are that dog they picture has never been muzzle conditioned.
Don't wait until you need it, make sure you condition your dog to be comfortable having a muzzle on.
Remember muzzles aren't just for dogs who are aggressive, they are for dogs to can't stop eating everything off the ground, and they are also used for safety in case your dog is ever suddenly hurt. A dog in pain is a dog with the potential to bite. So muzzle condition your dog!!! So they can be comfortable and so you can be safe.
Check out Buddy getting excited for his muzzle below, and reach out if you need help muzzle conditioning your dog!

It's important to pick a breed that will suit your lifestyle. It's important to do research well in advance about what you'll need for your dog from toys, food, kennels, vets, and especially training. When you don't prepare well, you end up with a stressed dog and a feeling of being utterly overwhelmed. But you're here now with a dog that you love and want to see succeed. So what are your options?..well that depends.
Are you willing and capable of changing your lifestyle to meet the needs of your dog?
Good, find a trainer that will educate and guide you to achieve your goals.
Are you unwilling but capable of changing your lifestyle to meet the needs of your dog?
Rehome the dog to someone who is willing better yet experienced, because even if you choose a board & train you will still need to upkeep the training.
Thankfully, Luna has a home where the whole family is willing and capable. They've had dogs before just not a Malinois. If you've ever met one or owned one you know they're a handful plus some! Keep up with MK9 to see updates on Luna and her family! π
