We were wondering if Hazel and Margo ( formerly Cashew) would recognise each other, after a long break. Both pups live at different foster homes not too close to each other, so they have not seen each other for a couple of months. Yesterday was a great day, both of them got to meet, and have a lot of fun! Both were so happy to see each other and enjoyed playing together so much!
Please check our Hazel's adoption profile, and apply to meet her, if would like to add a furry friend to your family!
https://angelsfurryfriends.org/hazel/
Margo is at foster to adopt home already. We only were able to save them because foster families stepped up to help hosting these girls.
Please, foster if you can, fostering can save lives.
Thank you to all who supports rescues.

Are you having a Good morning? :)
We are so pleased to share that Hazelnut is having a wonderful morning. She was recently rescued from a shelter with a high euthanasia rate and has faced some challenges since being saved. Alongside her three siblings, after being rescued she battled airway infections and UTIs, receiving the necessary treatments. When rescued, they were all also underweight, but thanks to the care of our loving volunteers, Hazelnut is feeling fantastic now.
At just 1-1.5 years old, Hazelnut is learning to be more confident and trusting towards people. After a month of dedicated care, she's on the path to recovery and happiness. Soon, she'll be spayed and ready for adoption, bringing joy to a new loving home. 😊🐾💕

🐶💙Update on Forest! Our apologies for the delays.
Forest has recently been placed in a foster home. He still exhibits signs of anxiety around food, devouring his meals quickly, possibly due to fear of not having enough to eat in the future. Due to a jaw issue, he can only consume soft and liquid foods. Although he may appear a bit anxious and protective around other dogs, he is incapable of causing harm as his jaw prevents him from biting. Forest's mouth doesn't fully close nor open completely, resulting in constant dryness and a higher frequency of drinking water. Currently, he still remains quite underweight, but he is on a positive trajectory and is expected to gain weight soon.
When he arrived at foster care home, a trace on his hind paw was noticed by his foster, potentially indicating previous mistreatment involving a wire. This observation suggests that Forest may have endured mistreatment or human cruelty, possibly resulting in his jaw impairment. While no concrete evidence exists, it remains a possibility given the absence of other information. Additionally, one of his eyes only partially opens, and it's uncertain if he has impaired vision. We plan to consult with an optometrist to address this concern.
Overall, Forest has made significant progress compared to his emaciated state when he was rescued approximately 1.5 months ago. While he still has a way to go, his journey of recovery has been remarkable.
Thank you so much for donating, and wishing him to recover! this helped with the costs and medical stay at the caring facility. We are sincerely grateful to you 🙏
Forest's improvements would not be possible without your kind help, his hospital stay was crucial in helping him gain strength for the recovery ! We will be updating you on Forest’s progress!
Thank you for your kind help.

Update on Misha, April 26 2023.
After weighing the pros and cons, the decision was made by doctors not to operate on Misha’s head. The broken skull bones slowly started to grow back, so it is better not to disrupt his weak body. The wounds on the head are still healing, so the treatment continues. Misha will be staying at the hospital, so his head injuries healing can be closely monitored. Unfortunately Misha was also diagnosed with heartworm, and therefore he will have to undergo even a longer and complicated treatment.
Heartworm treatment will cost about 1500 dollars with medicine and medical boarding. Currently he is too weak and thin. After head injuries recover and hopefully he gains more weight, heartworm treatments will start (approximately in a month).
Misha was betrayed by the family he loved so dearly. His body was under tremendous stress, which lowered his ability to withstand these multiple treatments, but we will be hoping for the best for Misha. He is in very good spirits, and already goes for small walks outside.
We desperately need the funds to help this sweet boy: this is his chance, and he has no other family at the moment, just the volunteers, who are already struggling to feed their shelter population.

Misha was transported to a specialized clinic yesterday. We were told he was scheduled for a CT scan, and also considered for a blood transfusion. His blood work is being monitored and so far was not improved.
We are waiting to hear back from the clinic, and praying that Misha can be helped.
The owners were reported to the police, but unfortunately in Russia, cruelty to animals is rarely punished.
Thank you to all who helped with the costs, we will keep you posted, as soon as have more updates on his condition.

Saks is a very good and friendly boy, full of love and affection. His original family got him at 2 months from a friend. He lived with two other dogs in the back yard for most of his life and never was allowed in the house. Saks was never trained or paid much attention to by his past family. After we had rescued him, he did not even know how to play, but since he is a very smart and sweet pup, he is catching up with lots of play time, loves walks and is very human oriented. This good boy Saks is looking for his forever family, please reach out to us, if you think you would like to add this sweet and loyal pup to your family!
If interested to schedule an Appointment to meet Saks, please fill out Adoption application on our website: https://angelsfurryfriends.org/adoption-application-dogs/
We are a small, all Volunteer Foster Based Rescue Group, we do not have a Shelter Location. Our animals are available for meets By APPOINTMENTS ONLY at Foster Homes in Bay Area

Joe has Vensarcoma. Yesterday he had his first chemotherapy. He may need overall about 8-10 chemotherapies.
Vensarcoma is the best possible diagnosis, in Joe’s case, since it can possibly be treatable. Therefore, there are hopes that everything will be fine. The veterinarian hopes that after 3 rd chemo, it should be easier for Joe to breathe through the nose. Right now Joe still had hard time breathing and only can breathe through the mouth.
We hope and pray to be able to help Joe, he deserves to be treated with love and care he never experienced in his life.
Thank you to everyone who kindly donated toward Joe's treatments.

There is no light, water and heat, but volunteers still have to do the best they can to help Rosa (Bagheera) in preparations for the upcoming chemotherapy..
Right now Rosa is at one of the volunteer homes in Odessa, she was rescued from the street and is cared for by https://www.facebook.com/ahimsa.org.ua/
The volunteers lay her crate with extra blankets and put canisters of warm water next to her. In the dark, with help of flash light they make intravenous injections and support medication via IV dropper to get her stronger before chemotherapy.
It is snowing outside, temperatures are dropping below zero at night, and the house is already cold.
After a series of supportives meds to get Rosa’s body stronger, they are getting ready for a blood work test and the first chemo.
The volunteers are not sure how long they may be able to treat and care for her in such conditions, but they are doing the best they can. She would definitely be better off in a warmer and safer place but that is all that is currently available.
After a series of chemotherapy, Bagheera will need lengthy rehabilitation in good conditions. In a country at war with constant power and heat outages, this is simply impossible to do. Therefore, they start looking for those who may be able to take her to rehabilitation after chemotherapy.
Bagheera endured the pain of a sarcoma wound for a whole year, she was left by her family without any help.
We hope to be able to help change her life.
It does not matter how much she has left, it is important with whom and in what conditions she will live for the rest of it.
Considering the circumstances, volunteers say her condition is pretty good, Rosa eats well, gets up on her paws and goes on walks.
They are in dire need of more supplies for her, like pee pads syringes, saline, liver medicine, hand disinfectant, chlorhexidine 2% in large quantities, ascorbic acid, cocarboxylase, Ringer's solution, Ecocid Ts room disinfectant.
They also go through a lot of sheet
Maya, does not seem to get a break, has to be going through more medical procedures. The pin holding her broken leg was taken out after almost three months. Since the healing was not progressing, the doctors have decided to remove the pin, and install a different construction, to stabilize her heal joint, and help her step easier. The new approach worked much better, Maya can now walk pain free! She is staying at foster home in Odessa , for the past couple of months, getting socialized and finally starts trusting people!
The unfortunate news that we received: she has advanced hear worm condition. Maya was started on medications about a month back, she already had two heart ultrasounds, where it's confirmed she has a few live heart worms in her chest. Again, Maya is headed for very long treatments. Just after we thought she was finally in a better shape physically and emotionally, Maya has to stay strong for more treatments during the upcoming months.
The video in this post was provided from one of the surgeon's appointments. We will be posting more updates on Maya soon.
We are thankful to volunteers of https://www.facebook.com/animalsosofficial for being there for Maya, taking her to multiple veterinary appointments, caring and working on rehabilitating this timid and lovely girl.
❤️THANK YOU!❤️ to all our supporters and contributors, who helped us afford such a long treatment and hospitalization for Maya.

🐶🧡 🐶🧡 Update on Aida, the sweet girl that was found by railroad unable to walk.
Aida has been on a very long journey to recovery and she is nowhere near finished. She has been receiving massages, vitamins, and supportive therapy in an effort to see if she will be able to regain her ability to walk. Her improvements and prognosis are hopeful! Aida is very patient with all the treatments, as you can see in the video she is still very wobbly but we are at least happy to see her standing and holding her own body weight.
We will continue to update you on her progress and we appreciate any and all support that is given! Your donations save lives and allow us to give animals like Aida a second chance.
🐶🧡 Aida's story from September, 2022:
Aida is a puppy who was found on the railways, crying. No one knows what had happened to her. Most likely, she was hit by a passing train. In the beginning, she wouldn’t let volunteers touch her or pick her up, but they managed to take her to a vet clinic. The XRay didn’t show any fractures but she was unable to stand on her own. She was extremely malnourished and dehydrated. Little by little, she started eating by herself. Her right side is rigid, and the legs are stiff - possibly due to a nerve damage. She has been in the clinic for 10 days now, has been given vitamins and antibiotics through IV, and the supplements for bones strengthening. Also, she’s been getting massages and physical therapy exercises to improve mobility.
The shelter in Volgograd, who are helping Aida, is already up to their necks with medical bills for their other sick animals, they are struggling to find resources to feed animals under their care. Every additional sick animal adds to their already very tight budget. It is hard to even imagine how these few volunteers can manage to feed this rising shelter population. They just could not leave Aida without help.

Naomi and her 9 puppies, that were rescued in August are doing great! The puppies are growing and are getting cuter and cuter! They all have being receiving necessary vaccinations, and are almost ready to be adopted to new homes. We are sharing this super cute video, where Naomi is on a break from caring for this adorable and active bunch :)
🐶🧡
Naomi's Story:
Spaniel Naomi was abandoned by her owners at their summer house. Just like that - threw Naomi out of sight, out of mind, and out of her life. Out of this misery, a ray of happiness came - a romance with a local male dog, and a few babies on the way. Constantly hungry, Naomi and her boyfriend were hunting for the neighbors chickens, simply trying to survive. The neighbors were less than happy with their ventures, and called the shelter with a demand to come get the dogs or they would be killed by poisoning. The rescue suggested taking pregnant Naomi to the vet clinic and paying for spay surgery. She was thrown in the trunk and taken to a local clinic. En route, Naomi gave birth to a puppy, then another 8 were born at the clinic! Then there were 11 new dogs to feed and to take care of, increasing an already heavy burden on the financially struggling shelter.
The 9 puppies are tiny and helpless, in urgent need of nourishment. Naomi is weak herself, and will not be able to feed them unless she gets better herself. The shelter is urgently looking for a foster home, but Fosters do not want to take her with her puppies because it would be a lot of work for them.
To keep this doggie family together and to make them thrive, the shelter needs funds for their urgent care. The shelter in Volgograd, who are helping Naomi, is already up to their necks with medical bills for their other sick animals, they are already under-resourced, every additional sick animal adds to their already very tight budget. It is hard to even imagine how these few volunteers can manage to feed this rising shelter population. T
💙🐶💛🐶 Hello from Romashka from Canada! Romashka was rescued in April 2022 in Odessa, Ukraine, by Animal SOS Odessa https://www.facebook.com/animalsosofficial/?ref=page_internalafter after been chained for a long time! There has been a long road, caring volunteers in Odessa, Kishinev (Moldova) and Toronto, (Canada)! It has been several months since his rescue, Romashka received help, got vaccinated, neutered, got his teeth work done prior to reaching his final destination - a loving Home! His name is Max now, and his mom shared this adorable video with us!
💙 🐶 Romashka’s story:
This little boy Romashka, lived tied to this chain all his life.
We recently learned about this poor pup from a facebook post and arranged his rescue. It turns out he was abandoned by his family when Covid broke out, they stopped visiting him in the village, which is 75 miles from Odessa, Ukraine (selo Buldinka) Some kindhearted neighbors kept feeding this poor lonely boy, but nobody would free him from the chain, or take him home. We were told that for his safety he had to stay on a chain, since there are big dogs living nearby, that can injure him.
Volunteers from Odessa drove to the village and freed 'Romashka'. In spite of been chained for all his life, he is an incredibly sweet and gentle soul, he loves people, happily greets them! When volunteers came and untied the chain, Romashka at first did not believe that he actually is free!
There will be no success stories without your help. ❤️
Thank you to all who support the rescues & make lifesaving efforts possible !
🐶💙🐶💛

Little Velya, who was rescued in very poor condition, he was found injured, having difficulties breathing, unable to see, smell and hear is doing pretty well! He had improved at a medical foster home! About two months back, it was determined he had brain atrophy and had short time left to live. Look at him now, he walks and runs on his own, his foster thinks he can see and hear now, Velya eats on his own, and is enjoying walks in the park! Next month the second brain MRI is scheduled, but it is certain that Velya looks so much better, and will enjoy life for a lot longer! We are very happy for Velya.

🐶🧡 Happy Friday, we have this cute update from Naomi, who gave birth on her way to the veterinary clinic to be spayed earlier this month. Naomi is still at the clinic, since she is still too malnourished, she has not much milk to feed her 9 pups, plus it is not save to keep unvaccinated newborn puppies at the overcrowded shelter.. At the clinic they feed the puppies to provide additional nutrition for their development. Also, one of the technicians had found and picked up a lonely tiny kitten on their way to work. Since they had no cats with kittens at the clinic at this time, they had offered Naomi to take care of the new kitten. And she accepted this little one too :)! So, Naomi is a mom of 10 babies now :)

It is hard to even imagine how these few volunteers can manage to feed this rising shelter population. They just could not leave Naomi and her newborn pups without help.
