Buddy Love, a long-time resident of SDS and foster, has gone home, where he can finally use his legs and run again. Before crossing the rainbow bridge, this beloved pup was adopted by his wonderful foster family, who cared for and loved him for so long. He came to SDS wounded beyond belief with little hope for a future, and our staff, volunteers, and his forever family showed him that life could be different. Anything is possible if you keep moving forward and showing kindness and love. Run like the wind, sweet boy!

Laverne has found her Shirley! Don’t they look so happy together? We are over the moon for this pup who has had some “almosts,” but finally seems to have found her forever home. Let’s wish them a happy life together!

We’re excited to announce that our Kennel Sponsorship Program now requires a donation of $1000 annually to sponsor a kennel at the Senior Dog Sanctuary of Maryland! Your name or business name will be put on the kennel for all to see. We love it when people do this to honor a beloved family member or pet. Your donation helps ensure we can continue to run our sanctuary, which costs up to $50,000/month to operate.

During the maturation process for bourbon and whiskey, roughly 2-4% of the whiskey in each barrel evaporates through the oak barrels per year. Distillers refer to this portion as the Angels' Share. We've always known that whiskey is a heavenly drink!

The weather and company were gorgeous this past weekend at the Olde Mill Fall Festival! We loved meeting everyone and teaching people more about our sanctuary’s mission. It’s been a week since our Fall Bingo, and we’re still reeling with gratitude! It was a massive success because of the incredible staff members, volunteers, and bingo players who came to support our wonderful sanctuary. We raised over $12,000! Thank you for supporting our cause to ensure all senior dogs find the love they deserve.
