Carefully cutting this lead from the top of the tree to the main trunk, to find it hollow all the way down into the trunk. I felt bad for my client having to share this news. Carpenter Ants have ate it up and its taking on rainwater. So he's going to loose it. I love trees and will save them when i can. Unfortunately we got to this one too late. So i refrained from whining about working in such a tight space with big equiptment. Another day, another challenge.

Sometimes you just have to show up with a 85' lift to get the job done safely. This photo is an optical illusion. The liftcage is about 8ft above this tree. Its important to be above the limbs you're cutting, for control and safety. On a sidenote, the trunk part of the limbs are bigger around than i am. So sent em' down a piece at a time. Man i love my work!!

With the temps over 100 everyday, you just have to take alot of breaks. And drink copius amounts of water. Especially the night before. Because the storm damage calls keep on coming. And we're always on duty.

Just another day. They all have their challenges. Some are just more fun than others. Frankly i could of done without the propane tank at the base. This photo doesn't show how the whole standing side is leaning dangerously over the propane, storage building and the home. The base is about 6' across. It was interesting to say the least. But its done now and another happy client.

Here my friends is a good example why its a bad idea to plant a tree close to your house. This catalpa tree was 25ft taller than this 2 story house. With limbs hanging way over it. And unfortunately the root system pushing against the foundation. So sadly enough it had to be removed. As you can see im taking a break , holding up this wall while Dustin makes the final cuts.

Emergency calls are always interesting. This particular tree was just down the road from home. The downed half had fallen in a storm. And was blocking the drive to their house and horse barn. The base was still connected to the tree and over the neighbors barb wire fence. It was 3ft wide at the bottom. Our assignment was to get it loose without damaging the fence, cut it up and clear it from the drive. And they could clean it up themselves with their tractor. Mission accomplished! We had 10 minutes til the sun was down. So we worked by headlight. But got done and another happy client.

Hey friends! I see this alot. Spring rains come, it warms up and first thing you know you've got a mess. Don't let this happen to you. Luckily i got to this before it did any damage to the shingles. It was fairly cheap to remove. And certainly more affordable than a new roof.

I just had to repost this! It was quite a story. The short version is this poor cat had been stuck in this tree for several days when they contacted me. I didn't have any climbing gear with me, but the neighbors 40' ladder got me right up there. Kitty was so tired and happy to see me she just let me tuck her in and carry her down. She didn't even put claws out for the trip down. As i stepped off the ladder and turned around there was a whole group of ladies phones out! Ha! It was funny i could hear the play by play while i was up there. "Oh he's talking to her..she's letting him pet her!..he's got her he's got her!" I love all animals and was just glad i could help.

Merry Christmas and happy New Year to all our clients and friends! Im truly blessed that most my clients become friends. And friends become clients as well. And im lucky to have good friends like Dustin on my team. I love my work, so once again im a lucky man. When most people say they are working from home it means they're on the phone or a computer. On this day an apple tree provided shade for a well earned break from the blistering sun. And a few less apples for the tree branches to hold up. We were just trying to help it out...Ha!

This is a perfect example of having the proper tool for the job. Though quite expensive, it was the only tool to get the job done in a space with no access for large equipment. Its a 17' pole with a chainsaw motor at the bottom end. And a 12" bar and chain at the other. You figure in your body height and arms reach, its a good 25' roughly. I won't kid you though pricey and rather heavy, it gets the job done. Dustin and i are surgeons with this thing. It takes strength and precision to make proper cuts controling the destination of each falling limb. I won't lie, running this thing has worn me down more than once. And took years to perfect this skill. But i to this day thank the man upstairs for getting us home in one piece, and not knock us in the head with falling limbs as we use it! Ha!

As you can see in order to do a good job we put ourselves in whatever position it takes. Keeping in our safety and safety of anything or anyone below. Every move and cut it is thought out thoroughly. Safety is always first. And we always pay attention and watch each others back. We are very much a brotherhood. That being said and this photo as an example, supports the argument of LEAVE IT TO THE PROFESSIONALS. Let the risk lay on our shoulders. We're used to it, so its much lighter. And gets us home in one piece.
