Yes, ANOTHER rescue! This one was a litter of puppies that were spotted under an abandoned house. We got the call late in the day. It was only about an hour before sunset and the temperature was dropping fast. It was about dark when we arrived and although the puppies ran away, their little heads popped back out and we were able to gather them up quickly. They were so skinny, freezing, scared and fell asleep quickly once inside the toasty truck.
Panic set in once we got them in their kennel and they began to p*e bright red! Horrible thoughts raced through our minds and then they pooped. It was red too! Upon closer examination we could see seeds and remnants of berries. That must have been what they were surviving on. This was somewhat of a relief but we felt much better when yellow p*e and brown poo greeted us in the morning.
These babies have made the best turnaround imaginable. They are now healthy, plump and sassy. They will be spayed/neutered the Monday after Thanksgiving and ready for their furever home.
We'll have some updated pictures for you soon but the "Little Rascals/Our Gang" litter of seven shepherd puppies are open for applications.
Their adoption fee is $125 and you can submit your application at www.carejeffcounty.com
