Thank you to @HSTCadopt for all of your impactful work in Martin County, Florida. Over five years of dedicated work, their TNVR pilot program demonstrated the efficacy of Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return, leading the Martin County Board of County Commissioners to pass a groundbreaking ordinance in November 2017. This ordinance allows healthy, free-roaming cats to return to their outdoor homes.
Through TNVR, cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and treated for various health needs. The program not only saves lives but also contributes to the humane management of free-roaming cat populations. πΎ π

Floridians, as the summer continues to heat up, this does not stop your pets from needing exercise. There are certain precautions we can take as pet owners to keep our animals safe and from overheating. Some tips we have are: 1. Never leave your dog in a hot car, conservatories, outbuildings, or caravans on a hot day. π2. Use pet sunscreen! Yes, this is a thing. We recommend putting sunscreen on the exposed parts of your petβs skin including the tips of their ears and noses. π§΄3. Ensure that your pet has access to shade and fresh drinking water to help stay cool. π§4. Watch out for βFlystrikeβ a painful and sometimes fatal condition caused by flies laying eggs onto an animal. These eggs hatch and can eat the flesh of your animal. π¦5. Keep your pet well-groomed! This will insure your dog has no excess hair. π(Source: RSPCA)
