Thurston Quarter Horses is a training facility that specializes in preparation of Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle and All-Around Horses as well as futurity prospects. We have numerous champions and top ten placings at the Congress and World Shows as well as other national events. We also place heavy emphasis on schooling amateur, youth and non-pro riders. Paul Thurston, graduate of the Unive

rsity of Findlay’s equine studies program and B.A. Paul has had 9 years experience working for various successful trainers in the horse business before opening TQH in the fall 1998. Tami Thurston, spouse and also a graduate of the U of F, is the director of Equine Technology at Martin Community College. Situated on 50 beautiful acres, TQH has a 25 stall barn, covered riding pen, several outdoor riding arenas, hot walker, round pen, numerous turn out lots and a 9 acre pond. We also have 5 camper hook-ups for clients that travel great distance that would like to stay at the farm and ride a few days at a time. The farm is a lovely place for customers and their families to visit. Motels and bed/breakfasts are 4 short miles to Tarboro.

Dear Small Breeder…. I see you!

I see you pouring your heart and soul into those mares praying for a good heartbeat check.

I see you, missing family gatherings because a mare needs bred. Or one is about to foal.

I see you, sleepless nights hoping nothing goes wrong at foaling time.

I see you, crying because you lost a foal, mare or both.

I see you standing over that prize yearling, that just broke its leg.

I see you, struggling wondering which incentives to pay into. Because everyone wants them all paid into every incentive possible.

I see you, as you are saying goodbye to the old mare that started it all… wondering if you should keep going.

I see you, struggling on which mare to breed to which stallion to hopefully make someone’s super star!

I see you, smiling because it all went right this time!

I see you, smiling because someone called to tell you how much they love that foal you raised. And it is their heart horse!

Keeping going small breeder! Because without you, there are a lot of people missing out on that once in a life time horse.

What a big time we had at the Connecticut Classic. The weather was beautiful, the people were very welcoming, the the show was run so well! Congratulations to Sittin On Kruze, winning the green on all cards and the circuit in the green HUS, owned by Anita Darnell and Amy Darnell Fobbe, shown by Tami Thurston. And Marey Poppins, Christine and Jennifer Gudas, circuit champ, Jr HUS and wins in the amateur HUS. Rocked N Red, also winning the Sr WP with Paul Thurston, and wins in the amateur world with Chris Ringer.
